I've been waiting for some offset and bent link ends, on backorder from RC4WD. I picked them up last trip home, so I've been messing with the links. Clocking my link/shock collars and reworking some stuff. I had some binding issues with the front uppers, which the bent links fixed. Tweaked the front lowers and the rear lowers a bit. It's starting to look kinda cool. |

Had some time after work today to fab a "cab" for this rig. It's very simple, and very low profile. I had some lexan panels taken off my mini, so I cut one down to fit. It's already got some rock rash on it which is nice. This is what I was going for when making the "cab". Recovery should be excellent, I think. |

Well it would seem it's time to fish or cut bait.... I just dumped a pile of money into this build, to get this rig running. Winnerone23 hooked me up with some Holmes esc's at the comp last weekend. VP knuckles, scale c-hubs, axle shafts, and receiver are in the mail. new2rocks hooked me up with two used Hitec 7950's to keep this rig on the straight and narrow. Lots to do.... |

I had a chance to see it in person on Sunday at the comp. Kevin is an awesome designer and fabricator, it is a work of art. I can't wait to see it up and rolling. |

My wife will never know the actual cost, I can't afford this rig; but I definitely can't afford a divorce! Quote:
Knowing you, and your level of achievement in this hobby, that means a lot. By the way, I didn't feel that cool, with your "real" Super sitting only two boulders away on Sunday......lol......that thing is awesome.

Wheelbase is currently 10-3/4". Not sure why, just picked a number to build the rig. It may need to be longer or shorter; not sure yet.

You have done a really awesome work on this one! I swore I would not build one myself, but you aint making it easy to keep that... Perhaps you should reconsider that receiver? You need 4 channels to control 2 esc and 2 servos. |

I didn't not even think about the receiver when I ordered it, just tossed it in the shopping cart with the other parts......it's one channel short, indeed. Getting kicked, while I'm down, the VP hubs are a lot different than the stock plastic XR hubs. Plastic hubs have an inside diameter of 0.52" (measured at the tips of the splines), which is what the axle tubes currently measure. The VP hubs only have the splines on the top and bottom near the screw holes. The ribs are not as pronounced as the plastic version and measure 0.53". The primary diameter is 0.55" everywhere else inside the hub, so they just flop around on the tubes, and the whole affair is a failure.

Since I'm sitting here with them in my hand.. Lol.. The normal wraith C's are 0.52" and fully splined. They are right in my tubes, which are non splined 0.52"... Press fit, as they are.. Maybe a trade in the wanted section? I might have a 4ch in a rig that only needs 3ch.. |

Also, thanks for the offer on a 4ch rx trade, gonna need something there. I'm no stranger to screwing up stuff when fabbing parts, it unfortunately does happen. Recently, I ordered plastic gears to save weight, and test durability. Since tubes are only $3.50 a pair, I ordered an extra set at that time, and they're already in the mail. In the beginning, I only had a gearbox and tubes that were empty, and cheap, for measuring. When I felt confident about MT's as an option, I ordered a pair of used axles. So, I'll actually have 4 new tubes to fix this mess. I'd like to keep the scale hubs since they clamp down; but I'm weighing the options.
