I design and manufacture for Ebike, military, and UAV applications. None of which anybody will ever know specifics about because of non-disclosure agreements Got to design the electric motor for a 500lb flying wing UAV last year, that was pretty fun. And because of these projects I haven't had time to finish up any personal funsies like this rig. The last few months have been 60 hours/ week minimums. I have some files out to other facilities to try and speed up the process. | |

Looking forwards to see the progress on this, have motor in wheel rigs become a thing?

Any chance you will link the 4 ESC's together? Then maybe have the ability to control the motors via RPM instead of voltage?

Yeah, this one petered out before completion. Been a helluva last few years. Stopped doing contract work and sold the lathe before it burnt me out. Also tons of new vehicle releases keeping me crawler satisfied and occupied.

But.... I could just print housings and throw 380 revolvers into the wheels now (new mini outrunner coming in a weeksh) . Dont need to use sensors at this point either. Ok, I'll put this back on the table. Still have all the parts.

Always vey exciting engineering from you John. This is really awesome ! Hope things get better for ya and see it continue. it kinda reminds me of the Berg era. where it got replaced with the super cheap scale crawlers , in which in my opinion is nice intro for the low budget and young kids to get into but is unfair the bergs and moa's stopped happening. I love my Berg for past 14 years and dont see given it up. Please continue on this. Great ingenuity. with sensored motor though, I dont think you need extra gears . Whats your thoughts/ideas? cheers |
