| UTRCRC Rumble in the Rocks 2009 Series
UTRCRC Rumble in the Rocks 2009 Point Series http://utrcrc.freeforums.org/utrcrc-...t155.html#p766 UTRCRC wanted to try something new for this season. First off, 801rcc has a great monthly weekend series. We didn't want to interfere with that at all but at the same time thought it would be fun to have more crawling. Some of us have to work weekends which makes it hard to make it to comps then so we figure why not have a week day comp. The goal is to have comps very close that people could make it to right after work. Right now the best spot is Kiwanas park in American Fork but if people have other suggestions where we can fit three courses and there is enough parking please let us know. We are going to start the comps at 5:30pm. We realize some guys might not be able to be there right on time so please try to be there as soon as possible but that way some people can get started earlier. The courses will be ready to go by 4:30. Light hopefully won't be an issue, but if it is we have some ideas for lighting. Any suggestions though would be appreciated. Courses are also going to be kept to 6-8 gates to try to keep things moving quickly. This will be a 2.2 comp. We would like to do 1.9 but are worried about the time constraints. We will be following the official USRCCA rules. If you have any questions about them please ask or refer to www.usrcca.com. Schedule March 11th (Wed) – Kiwanis 4:30pm March 25th (Wed) – Kiwanis 4:30pm April 8st (Wed) – Kiwanis 4:30pm April 22th (Wed) – Kiwanis 4:30pm Map to Kiwanas http://utrcrc.freeforums.org/kiwanis...grove-t35.html We would also like to have a weekend final at City of the Rocks in Idaho. We have to figure out if that's possible or not so stay tuned. It will most likely be the first or last weekend in May. Last edited by Just Zach; 02-22-2009 at 07:51 PM. |

Right on, I think this is a good idea! Any map to show how to get to Kiwanis?

Just a little tid-bit of trivia. Kiwanis park is the birthplace of RC crawling in Utah. We (UTRCRC) held its first official event there in March of 2004.

I plan on bringing a broom which will get rid of that terrible white stuff. I'd bet its mostly gone now too. I had a couple inches at my shop this morning and its long gone now. |

| Whats wrong with Stamp collecting? It is one of the world's most popular hobbies, with estimates of the number of collectors ranging up to 20 million in the United States alone. Kevin, here is a site that may help get you going in your new hobby. http://www.stamps.org/ |

Wow! That was a much bigger turnout than I was expecting! Thanks for everyone who came out. There were tons of new faces. Just in case anyone was wondering, those courses turned out very difficult so please do get discouraged. I promise they'll be better next time. Also, hopefully next time we will have 3-4 judges so we can run all 3-4 courses at a time. Even with only two judges we got done right at dark which is great! If you have pictures please post them up. Scores 1 Just Zach 35 24 10 = 69 2 Cody Cook 35 35 8 = 78 3 Kelly Knighton 36 34 11 = 81 4 Greg 39 37 12 = 88 5 Mark Bales 34 22 35 = 91 6 Matt PinchFlat 25 34 35 = 94 7 Mike Olesko 33 37 35 = 105 8 Desmond 37 33 35 = 105 9 Jonny 37 36 32 = 105 10 Chops 38 37 31 = 106 11 Jason Weight 37 39 31 = 107 12 Allyn Rasmusell 36 39 36 = 111 13 Art Serna 37 37 37 111 14 Scott Rasmusell 38 39 35 = 112 15 Jefferson Sharp 39 39 40 = 118 16 Gary 36 50 35 = 121 17 Kaleb 37 50 36 = 123 18 Brian Destroyer 37 50 39 = 126 19 Hyro Rodriguez 39 50 38 = 127 Last edited by Just Zach; 03-11-2009 at 10:59 PM. |
