Default 2.2 Unlimited class

I wanna hear what kind of rigs people are going to build for this class. I think it'll be interesting to see what people come up with with hardly any rules in place.

I know some guys are gonna use their 2.2 comp rig, which is fine, but what about the rest of you?

Forced articulation? Winchdown suspension? Dig? Rear steer? A self righting apparatus? 40 series tires?

Everyone always complains about the rules, no let's see what you've got.

If I get a chance to make it I will be doing a rebuild of my 2.2 on sat. night and it will have twin ESC's,Rear Steer,DX6,Maxx Wheels with either narrowed MeatGrinders,PlowBoys,or 2.2 HB's stretched around them.

I was thinking about a berg with front and rear burn, rear steer, and a servo mounted with a lever that would come off the roof to upright the rig, its still in the design phases.

No, it's dumbass things like that, that will have to make us write more rules.

This is a rock crawler competition, not a helicopter competition.

i think it'd be cool to see a telescoping weighted boom off the front of a rig to keep the front end down during climbs.

my idea was to pivot the body so you never take a reverse penalty.

just spin the body around and drive forwards in the other direction :-P

Will using a winch in this class incur a touch penalty?

well with all the rules thrown out I want a 2 diffs per axle with each wheel having its own engine and esc, 8 inch tall knobby tires with 40 series center insert, forced 4 wheel articulation with multi hinged pivot point on a flat chassis, electromagnetic rock magnets on each wheel (independant controlled) for that extra grab force, a 16'' pendulum mounted to a 360% gyro system with 80% of the vehicles weight balanced for that killer side hill action. self propelled grappling hooks on a all 4 corners, and yes I want the laser guided tracking system for that perfect line every time. oh and a 48 channel radio. LOL man this could be fun!!!!!!

The operational rules still apply just like they normally would. Your spinning body ain't gonna work for hiding reverses, and no you can't use a winch.

The only rules that are open are the vehicle spec rules.

We are going to run 16" gate widths.

I would expect that we'll build the courses somewhat like a 2.2 course, maybe a little tougher.

Do Colorado guys need to wait a week to enter the unlimited class as well? Is the main 2.2 going to be open at 5:00pm next Tuesday for the CO guys?

Why do the body, make it do the whole rig Have something come out of the bottom and you can rotate the rig any direction you want Hey J, does Mattracks count as wheels Just curious

Sure we'll allow that. We just didn't want any 6x6's or 8x8's.

i don't know if that would meet the requirements either (technically no different than what i suggested)

I have a few more ideas but they all seem to get shot down when I suggest them, so... zip

I think the body move was shot down for the cheesy factor:-P I do think what I said should be acceptable. Really no different than a self right apparatus. I want to see what all the Engineers on here are going to come up with. I thinking crawler robot wars I know I am trying to think of some things.

so is rule
2.3.6 -
If at any point during a run your vehicle falls out of these vehicle specs for any reason you will be required to take a touch penalty and correct the problem.

still in effect for the 12.5" wheelbase and 4 wheels/tires?

I think I need a better explanation of what rules are in effect for this class. i don't want to pay $75 and show up to the comp with a rig that you guys won't let me compete with.
