Times have changed.
This changed when the book "The Lean Startup" came into publication. Its a cut throat way of doing business, but its not the only way. No one cares how good the customer service is if nothing works out of the box. Why are so many RC companies going out of business? I promise the two are related.

So what does this have to do with VP and the VS4 ?
One kit had a bad set of caps, VP jumped to satisfy timely, so now we are going all over the place here. I am starting to feel like D.B. Cooper

Come on mikemcE its a forum where people discuss things, yes off topic, but this is a simple discussion. No flaming, bashing or other internet horrors are involved. This thread could have gone sideways quick. Honestly this simple issue is the exact example of how companies turn to crap. VP lost its QC when they stopped packing their product. Now they are at the mercy of someone overseas. Nobody care as much about something as the person that makes it.

Its really the point to the a forum and frankly you should be happy people are participating.

So we can start a separate VP discussion thread for that . This is a new player, the OP was pointing out his kit and asking for kit input.
We’ve derailed it.
Yes I’m happy to see the participation, but once derailed the cars keep slamming into each other.
I want to see , feel, smell and touch this kit . Not really worried about who owns what tools and machines , just the VS4 kit .

I’m impressed by the reaction VP had. I also have seen a build that went letter perfect and drives .
I’m waiting impatiently for mine

And WITH that (channeling Harley), lets get back to our regular program...

Took some more measurements at 72° F.
Freezing now...

There is no measurable (by my micrometer) difference in the bearing retainer size dropping it ~70 degrees F. Before and after pics attached.

With a linear expansion coefficient of 22x10^-6 m/m*C, this is not surprising. Unless you're assembling this kit on the surface of the sun, thermal expansion probably won't be an issue. (If you are assembling this on the surface of the sun, I'm amazed your Internet is working.)

Kits are packed at Vanquish HQ in California.

What's the made in Taiwan printed on the box for then? Nothing against them manufacturing off site but it's good to understand if it was made elsewhere that it conforms to Vanquish standards in both manufacture and the metals used.

The plastic molding and lexan bodiy is from Taiwan. I think the incision parts are also. The aluminum is CNCd in CA.
My kit will be assembled in Florida

I received my kit yesterday and wanted to let everybody know that I did not have any issues with the axles. Everything went together really nice. All of the machined parts and plastic parts seemed to just fall right together. Extremely happy with how it all went together. It is not done yet, but this is how far I got last night.

Gents,

Different type of question...kit is described as "Limited."

Coming from the Tamiya world, what does this mean in Vanquishes context?

Limited run? Parts hard to get? Buy two kits now should you plan to actually run it?

Not trying to be a wise guy, just want to understand what I'm getting into. I've no issue whatsoever with paying a premium for quality, I just want to understand this will be a supported platform. For example, I see that front offset axle no where else...parts going to be available for this platform?

SCX10 parts are ubiquitous, certainly not expecting that, but would like to get some ideas regarding platform support for this investment.

I suspect limited is a marketing buzzword.
This is a new design front axle, I suspect it will be offered, makes no sense to limit it to just in house kits.

I would suggest sending Dan or Josh a PM / EMail and I suspect they will be happy to reply.
With Axialfest upon us more answers should be coming soon

It was mentioned in another thread that limited is the name of the kit body.

Per Harley, limited on the VS410 is a badging like a Ford F150 Limited not limited as in production quantity.

Hey, don't feel bad. I am weak too!

I got the chance to see 2 of these trucks run this past June at the Team KNK TTC 5 and instantly fell in love. They really performed well. Ordered one when I got home. Glad I did.

Why is a $900.00 kit on top of a $12.00 motor box

And what type of clever thing do you have going on with the syringe hanging from the board. Is that a grease dispenser? if it is that's brilliant.

The syringe is probably lube of some sort. Some thin oils come in bottles with a needle on them. Syringes are very handy tools in the hobby room.

You make me look at the photo again. That's Michael Jackson on a Pepsi can...

Pepsi Cola burned him up now he's drinking 7 Up.
