Nice! I got a super quick reply asking for pictures and saying they will send new bearing carriers out but didn’t receive a response after sending my address and pictures. Hope they got it in the mail, anxious to keep building!

| Re: VS4 for the 1.9 noob Everything else fit like a glove, (not OJ’s) I need to dig up a few o rings for the upper shocks. Looks like the next steps are boring, clean, prep, mask, spray , peel, tape , spray, peel....... and then come the wheels !!!!! Stay tuned!! Hang up and Drive |

Looks like it’s coming along good. Can’t wait to see the finished body. Just finished my body last night. Not my favorite part, but didn’t turn out to bad. I too added o-rings to shock tops. Works really well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I love solving things..... had binding in the front suspension. Seems the servo horn and servo screw was hitting the upper panhard link, that will bind the suspension. Waiting on my VP horn, so I spaced the servo up, I may need to print a spacer. I did that waiting for paint to dry...... I think it’s gonna look ok ! Inner fenders, Copper/white backing, black where you can see. White really gave it some pop ! Hang up and Drive |

I love masking tape and #11 exacto blades ! My fingers are numb, but I think I’ve got it ! I started by masking the hood bump, and shot it black. Dried overnight. I’ve now masked again, the body color is next, then the roof. I’ve masked the interior, also 3 colors. Now it’s booth time! Hang up and Drive |

Getting there..... So far no major issues! Ready to shoot the roof, then the white backer. Interior and dash done, backer needs to be shot next. Hang up and Drive |

It’s going to look good! Love the color. That color was my second choice on mine. May have to buy another body and paint it that color! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Interesting update...My servo horn came in and they shipped a 24mm. good news is it works perfect, and doesn't hit my panhard bar link. I will point out that the shape of the VP arm is why everything works so well. I'm going back to the chassis and bumpers now to finish what I can. Monday my new bearing retainers will be here. |

Well I learned waiting over the last weekend that patience may be a virtue , I’m over it..... yeah so I thought! No no kit problems, waiting on VP and USPS on Monday so I can do my final axle assembly and lube. I’ve gotten everything done for now that I can. Now all I can do is wait for the paint to cure overnight. Then I can add details and decals. Paint will be amazing in the sun, lots of pop judging by the inner fenders. Wheels for now are the stock plastic, I suspect a set of GearHead s and Hyrax’s stuffed with CI foams will find there way on this rig. Thought I had some leftover window tint , but can’t find it, will stop at the tint shop for free scraps , those big back windows need a dark tint ! I think yours is the first one I’ve seen with color matched fender wells. I love it! Wish I would have thought of that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Thanks gents! I always layer paints anyways, I wanted some pop rather than all black . I’ve gotten most of the interior finished, light buckets and grill installed.wiring and details left. Painted up the wheels, they look nice, but you still can’t polish turds.... Hang up and Drive Last edited by mikemcE; 07-29-2018 at 07:48 AM. |

Nice wheels. I like them. They look a lot better than black plastic look. Another of your ideas I may have to borrow from you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| VS4 for the 1.9 noob Thanks! I thought about this kit and where I was going to go with it . I wanted something that I could see and follow , so that told me bright, and as I’m in Florida, Orange always works for me. I researched it and found lots of orange and black paint, so that was out, switch to boring white, that wouldn’t fly so Pearl White was needed for that pop. Now this does have a big bump on the hood, so just to make sure you noticed it , some black filled it in. Notice the eyes, the way VP did this kit, I was able to yellow tint the headlights , and the rear taillights although red leds, I dropped the stock tailight lens sticker for solid color. With the bumpers and “rockers” silver along with those gorgeous Curries, the stock wheels sucked, so a bit of paint time resulted in this . Interior was a first for me, I spent extra time taping and painting, BUT as only I can I screwed it totally up.... You can tell me where, but I did hide it well. To finish things up, I have to tint the rear flat windows, as all our vehicles are tinted here . Then the final dusting and install will be done. Why is it on jack stands still ? USPS has my replacement bearing retainers to deliver tomorrow , and I’m waiting to install them before we roll . Electronics are ready to plug in, just need to shorten the motor leads once the MMP is mounted. I am going tomove the bec and make a double rx bypass cable so my servo and lights from Lighthouse RC will have 8 volts, they will be switched by my HeyOK controller. Yes of course I’m running a ProModeler 420 servo and everything is powered by a SMC 4500 3s lipo using XT 60 plugs, and of course my trusty Futaba 4PLS Tx ...... Time !!!! I need some. I did get everything wired up, and bound. Now a few adjustments, vent the other two tires I didn’t, and if I’m good the wheels come tomorrow . So it will be another long night. Should be able to finally tidy things up and actually turn a wheel and scratch it up by Saturday , now to find some more time ! Hang up and Drive Last edited by mikemcE; 08-01-2018 at 07:34 PM. |
