Default VS4 for the 1.9 noob

Well today started out in FRUSTRATION LAND !!!
A dead truck, that was bound and the servo worked great. I hit something late last night on my Futaba and was clueless.
After a good sleep and a strong black cup of Folgers, I went troubleshooting , found I had enabled dual esc mode..... bingo!
Finished up wheels, tinted the rear windows, tested electronics, set EP , recheck all fasteners....... It’s ALIVE !!!

I must say after getting proper bearing retainers this kit has set a very high bar, not sure if any will follow. I also got to run it around my tree roots and in the yard, normal play spots, this truck handles, runs true, and is going to be a blast !
The 1900 slate gives me a great drive, will see how the rocks work out with it . I did weigh this one, even with all the alloy and 4300 battery only weighed in at 7.5#
Only thing I needed to change was the battery, flipped it 180* for interior clearance

I have to say this is my favorite Origin by far. The only thing I would have done differently is to put on some raw aluminum wheels to go along with the bumpers and kick panel rub rails. I'm just not a huge fan of black wheels because they blend in with the tires, but that's just a personal preference.

Oh and you made me fall in love with that color!!! What paints did you use exactly?

You done good, Mike! Awesome truck!

Thanks Jato! Tamiya PS57, PS14,PS5. Copper, pearl white , black. Interior had pactra silver and PS5 floor .dash was black and copper , I backed the body panels with white not black as dash and seats are. The wheels will be broken up by a locking red hub up front. Plus these are steel and they will rust, etching primer will solve that...

So "dope", as the kids say...

Again, a huge fan of the SSD Steel Trails!

As long as these stay in production for long enough, I'm gonna have to pick one up someday.

Maybe even my next rig, instead of a TRX-4...

Just have to save up for twice as long!

Found a hill by the local LHS, felt the need.
What a shock !! All the way up, no issue picking most lines, this truck works !! Tires gripped great, foams are so so, lil novas coming. Didn’t shoot many stills, just drove it!

Well didn’t have time to go today, but found a bit of time to tidy up and finish the lights. As these lights are not esc sensitive, I hardwired things in, and used a 9v battery for now. If I add a light bar then I will run through the bec . So I found an old switch I cut off an esc, wired it into a jst connector so everything could be ready to go and solid, I did make a plate to mount the switch, which is accessible from underneath but hidden. Wires were soldered, heat shrunk , then double wrapped for durability when out trailing. A bit of 3M Dual Lock was put on both the battery and where it mounts on the battery plate.

you going to run a servo winch next to your steering servo? loving the build. it reminds me of the IH Scout my father had in the early 70's.

Most likely since I have one and there is a great spot, and I have spare channels. What I need to do is save up for the fairlead....its $25.00

Thanks. I spent almost as much time doing that as the entire truck took to build.

Sweet pic! Wheels look good with the scale hubs.

Like the background too. Don’t get to see Palm trees here in Ohio. I miss the beach!
