Are the extended shock towers included in the kit as well by chance

No, just the standard mounts came in my chassis kit for 90mm shocks.

Extended towers are only done in aluminum.

Are the VP Portal's going to work with the new Transmission being the lack of offset?

They will not. New transmission forces the use of offset axles.

I finally got around to using one, of the three chassis kits, that I bought. I used it on my 10.2 Honcho. The Honcho was a lightweight setup, at only 5.7lbs. The chassis swap added almost half a pound to the rig. I'm not complaining. Even though is was all unsprung weight, the lower COG of the chassis more than made up for it. The Honcho still pulls some amazingly steep lines, but it feels more stable. I have a few OG SCX10's, that I already converted to AR44's. I'll be ordering more of these chassis and converting them!

Can you post up some pictures of honcho body/cage mounted to this chassis?

Did you have to remove fuel cell cover to lower body?

I am interested in swapping to this chassis but want to make sure it will for sure work with honcho body.

What would be the best three Gear transmission to use in this chassis for a custom build with portals?

Any standard axial style 3 gear transmission will work. Just gear it up a bit to compensate for the portal reduction with a larger pinion and smaller spur gear.

Is there one better than the other, or are they pretty much all the same?

They all have the same function and format. All depends on budget really. Aluminum cases are nice because you wont strip out the screws when bolting it on through the skid plate.

Super Shafty sells complete bombproof transmissions if you want to buy one with everything all at once.

They should look something like this. Just seen these this past weekend. They felt very smooth and finish was great. Only bad thing is which one to pick.

I read on your website that with the chassis kit the SCX10 II transmission is not compatible. Is this true? The super shafty transmission is not in my budget

That is correct. The high clearance rails do not allow for the scx10 II kit style transmission mounts to line up.

Ive seen it done, just took some work.

You could go with this: https://www.amainhobbies.com/axial-l...xi30487/p18739

And: https://www.amainhobbies.com/incisio...c00190/p710208

That would give you a great starting point.

Which scx10 ii transmission are you referring too? One is, the other is not if I'm not mistaken.

I'm referring to the one in the link I posted. Brandon put links for a different transmission that will work
