Default New Vanquish Chassis Kit

Just saw Vanquish has a VS4-10 chassis kit available May 27th. Priced @ $110.00 appears to be a good value as a SX10-2 upgrade . I did order one but not sure if the new Axial builders kit transmission will work.

Its designed to work with the standard 3 gear transmission. The Skid plate for the kit transmission will possibly bolt in however the additional mounting points for the Kit trans require holes in the frame rails that most likely will not line up due to the high clearance design of the VS4-10 Rails.

Anything is possible though

Well at least the 3 gear's are fairly inexpensive.

You have the correct one. The one you got in the builders kit is not the same as the Cherokee kit that everyone refers too. Builders kit comes with the rtr transmission people refer too, it's basically the original transmission.

Looks to be a reasonable priced way to upgrade an Axial.

I can't see myself ever upgrading my Axial to this frame, but if I was building from scratch I'd surely choose this chassis for not much more! And it looks a heck of a lot stronger and sturdier.

I pre-ordered one yesterday. My plan is to save this chassis for next winters build. I'm thinking about throwing on some VP F9 axles and maybe a Super Shafty Bomb Proof trans.

I believe it is a great price for the parts & features that it comes with. I have been extremely happy with my VS4-10 and this chassis should be equally as great.

Saving my pennys now for the build!

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/332653231965but fully dressed there more like 35-50 for ether the trx4 or the g8
that is a used price not new in the packadge
so i exsagurated a bit

OK, was not sure what I was missing, the deals that can be had on ebay. Still under $50 is real good for either.

I'll just ignore the Gen8 comparison / ebay pricing comments. Doesn't seem relative here.

This is definitely aimed at custom builds as well. Cant fault us/Vanquish for advertising it as a direct SCX10 upgrade as that is the largest market for this Chassis Kit.

Its extremely rigid.

Lots of axle options for this chassis. The high clearance makes it an excellent platform for portals and offset front axles as well. Few more weeks and you will see some builds utilizing other brands axles, TRX4, Vaterra, Element?!?.

It also looks like the new element overdrive transmission has the same exact bolt pattern as the standard 3 gear trans so all these options could make for a very easy build.

Thinking of using my VS4-10 Axles that I replaced with Vanquish Portals and 90mm Incision Shocks, the rest from a Axial.

Out of curiosity I went to the Traxxas web page and priced the basic TRX4 Chassis. with less extras than what Vanquish offers for $110 Traxxas is $129.00 with no hardware, no battery straps, links and a few other items that would have added to the Traxxas cost.

What's the vibe on changing out the chassis anyways? Do you need to swap out the rails from the stock 10.2 rails to be competitive at comps or something? Building my first 10.2 for C2 and hadn't planned on changing the chassis, but if there's a significant CoG benefit I may.
