VS4-10 Chassis Kit (Unimog)

Anyone know if the Axial Unimog body/rear cage will fit on the VS4-10 Chassis Kit? I know the transmission needs to be the 3 gear RTR 10.2 version.

The high clearance frame rails will requires some trimming on the cage I would imagine.

The front bumper body post mounting system may require some modification as well.

Anything is possible though!

Yep finished about a week ago. Worked out good. Left a little extra on the from of the cab when trimming the lexan. And got rid of the the fuel tank cover.

If you zoom in on the pic of the front you can see I left a little more lexan on. Left the rear fuel tank cover off and used the two little raise screw holes in the back as a gauge to where the back of the body will rest. Then cut them off after all mocked up and trimmed a small piece of the fuel tank cover off and install it. Used spacers to bridge the gap in the holes I drilled into the full tank for mounting the back. Had to get creative with mounting the front mounts. But just mock them up and you’ll figure out a way to mount them. And of course had to use the RTR 3 gear transmission. If you did some modifications and used the kit version skid plate I’ll bet you could make the kit transmission to work. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2c71f28d6a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...dda97f8bdb.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6868232a43.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8a4f6a8eff.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...60d93b8356.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0e27db66c4.jpg

Turned out great. Did you use the 12" Wheelbase link kit from Incision?

I've got a VS4-10 chassis kit that I'll be putting TRX-4 Portal axles under, and I want to run an 11.4" WB because I have a Mighty FC body that I want to use. I'm already going to have to make a panhard and steering link, but not sure what other links I'll need to change to get to a 11.4" WB.

11.4” WB. This is embarrassing, but I bought 3 fricken sets of 12.3” WB links to accomplish it though. Obviously the front kinks are the front links. For the rear I used the front lower links. And of course the front upper link in the rear, which is why the 3rd set of links was needed. So uh ya, I have several individual and one nearly complete set of links for sale:)

Damn you, as if I haven’t spent enough money on this one. You’ve really got me in the mindset now that I should put portals on this thing.

Clean execution on the conversion, not a simple one to knock out. 8)

So I started my conversation as well, coming along nicely and appreciate the pictures and your take on the mods to get it fit up.

I’ll get a thread going when I get a little further along.

I am using the VP portals and liking the results so far!

I almost did the same thing. (I'm kinda new to all this). But then I stumbled across Hardcore RC https://hardcore-rc.ecwid.com/Axial-UMG10-c34952358
He sells complete link sets specifically for the UMG10 in 11.4" and 12" WB.

I just bought the 11.4" WB set. We'll see how those work out.

Wow man that looks awesome! Wish I had your detailing skills. When you get a chance would dig seeing under the body and the portals.
