No training axles going on it :lmao:

I really don't care for the looks of the F9's.

I was ready to pick up the original VS from RPP. I was waiting till the next holiday as they put out the 15% discount code then. At the time you still could use the discount on Vanquish kits. Then the Pro VS was announced and that changed my mind. Pro was coming with updates which was great but body and axles are not me favorites. I figured that those could be easily sold. Hard part was tracking down the original body. Finally found one so almost time to start moving parts out.

Here's the axles I am going with. Got the rear assembled last night. Also tried out some of the VRP honey grease. This stuff is thick and sticky. Very little was needed to coat the gears. I don't see this stuff fling off. Next is to try out the shock grease I got.

Re: Carpetfuzz's VS4-10 PRO

I have the rear axle finished up and moving on to the front. Forgot to take a picture of them but I did when I started the front axle. I like to add add extra grease to the bearings. I don't trust who ever built them. I have found many a dry bearing in the past (not in the Vanquish kit). Hopefully I get to the shocks soon as I am very curious about them plus want to try out the new grease for shocks

Will do "thumbsup". I am hoping that it holds up but you don't know till you try.

The shock grease reminds me a jar of AE green slime but only thicker

Re: Carpetfuzz's VS4-10 PRO

I really wanted to change up some parts so I don't have the "same looking" Pro as everyone else. Already changed the axles. Next up is the links. These are fresh out of the spray booth. I really like how they came out. I know that they are going to get scratched up but I think it's going to give it character.

Thanks buddy
I was going to go powdercoat (friend has a powdercoat shop). Figured just going to get scratched so I decided to go with paint. Black satin and poppy red satin. Just some lite coats and left them in the sun to bake for a day. Used a small box and punched a couple small holes in it to thread the links into to hold them upright.
I threaded the ends on afterwards actually really easy and no chips.

Time for the VFD transmission. This thing is so smooth and thought out. You can tell that there was some time put into this. First you have the OD built into it. Second placing the motor underneath and low as possible. Third all the machine work on those beefy gears which have some weight to them but that's ok with me. Fourth the fit and finish is by far the best I have seen the VFD almost builds itself it is that smooth. Lastly the little cover over the gear to inspect and add grease if need be. As usual I did add extra grease to all the bearings in the transmission and for that matter every bearing in the kit. It's kinda of me thing.

Looks great!

Just a little tip if you didnt already notice. The Half Cab has some additional trimming along the areas that meet the front and rear bumpers. Match those cuts on your Origin body to allow it to sit nice and low.

Man, them links look good!"thumbsup" Can't wait to see how they look when the body is painted.

I really like how them Canyon Trails look on those wheels! Makes it look mean!

Are those SSD wheels and do you plan on running that wheel/tire combo?

I've had great luck with my Canyon's after I cut and siped them.

It really does give it a mean look. Those are SSD DHole rims with SSD +3 brake rotors. I might just keep this combination as I am pleased with it. I was also thinking about some Proline tires or RC4WD Milestar tires. I haven't tried either of the 2 brands yet. Do you have any experience with either brand?

At first I thought I really screwed the pooch on trimming the front but it actually sits better. Front lip was being held up by the bumper. Trimmed it completely different than the half cab front and turned out great IMO. Then there was the rear I thought I had trimmed to much and looked like the Grand Canyon :lmao: but in the end it all turned out great.
