Default VS4-10 Ultra Kit Transmission?

Will the kit have a downgraded Transmission? Plastic motor plate, plastic stays and bearing holders and the sintered gears?

That's a disappointment.

The sintered gears don't bother me at all. I do much prefer an aluminum motor plate.

I wish they offered their lightened motor plate in black to match the rest of the transmission.

Yes, we're using the VFD Spec Transmission. I'm 100% confident there will be no issues based on how many are already on the market and all the testing we did.

The decision was made in order to hit the lower price point. The added parts count with the portal axles is quite high.

I will work on getting a black motor plate for sale. The lightweight plate was done as a bit of a test run with the Pro kits to see if there was a market for weight savings on the VS4-10 so we only made it in 1 color initially. Someone suggested brass...

Even though I loathe plastic motor plates, I sure it and the rest of the parts will be fine as well for 99.7% of us.

Lightweight and brass...genius!

I like the metal motor plate also. I ordered the plate along with the new overdrive gear set that comes with metal bearing carriers. Sintered gears also have not been an issue with me.

Basicaly you get $200 more in axles but $100 of for the tranny then?
Not a bad deal if you want Portals, and many do I think.

Benefits to both axles.

Can you get a metal motor plate separate? Does the plastic one break? Edit: oh was answered.

Worth pricing it out vs a dyi with traxxas sport Portals.

Probably don't save much if any, just more custom.

I have had a set of Vanquish portals on my Limited for 2 seasons now. They have been trouble free. The axles by themselves are around $500 and $100 for the body. A person is getting a lot for $229.

Which metal motor plate did you order? I'd like the lightened one, but only in black.

Any reason to upgrade the standoffs from the kit plastic to aluminum other than for looks?

I went with the silver one, I am adding the silver shock mounts and a stainless screw set and the Dig that is also silver on the black kit . I may regret the creature I'm going to make!

That's what I was wondering. Have you thought about the extended shock towers to bring the COG down?
