Back in Business with a VS4-10 Ultra-Pro

Today, after a 4weeks wait, the ordered Ultra Kit hits my LHS... gives me the Time to read‘n‘order.
And thanks to this Forum, i got a lot to order.

After work i started with Bag A1/A2 to build my Frontaxle.
But Luck is not in my side.... The Housing got 2 stripped threads and the diff-cover looks like it‘s not completely milled.
Sucks BIG time...

Not the start i was expecting.

Build update follows...

note: i‘am swiss, so i hope you can forgive me for my not so proper english.

Green = stripped Threads

Your English is fine!

This is a bummer, but Vanquish has great customer service so they'll make it right. I'd say continue onto other build steps.

Question: Pro VFD, is there a spacer/screw needed?
(the thread above the „30“)

Man your table setup is so clean and spacious. Envious of that shop space you have! Looking good so far.

Yes! A pin with threads on one side screws into there. I almost missed it while building my VFD.

Here the same... missing the Pin.
Neither in the Kit (make sense), nor with the Bearing Plate (make no sense).
Is there a way to get one of those?

Yes, the metal pin should have been included with the overdrive gear set.

if you look in the picture with your parts it is in the overdrive gear set

Jep... before i go to bed, i had the idea to look in the Overdrive Gear bag and guess what`s in there?

Any suggestions for a good Motor?
I just realized that my HH PullerPro is the 540XL version and that doesn`t fit.
I will mainly go with 3S... 2S as option?

I am thinking of:
- HH Puller Pro BL 540S "Stubby" 2700kv
- HH TrailMaster BL Pro 540 - 3300kv
- Castle 1406 2850kv

Thanks and have a good one!

Re: Back in Business with a VS4-10 Ultra-Pro

I run a standard length PP 3500kv in my Ultra. I used a 12t pinion, I may go up to a 13t or 14t in the future but for now it's got plenty of low end with just enough wheel speed.

I've got all of the same upgrades except the machined gears to go in mine. I may get those at some point in the future.

Re: Back in Business with a VS4-10 Ultra-Pro

Thanks Lashlee... you run 3s, right?

Re: Back in Business with a VS4-10 Ultra-Pro

When I built my front Ultra axle I had to use a different size screw where you are indicating. 3 were the same size and worked but I had to use a bit of a longer screw for the 4th.

Re: Back in Business with a VS4-10 Ultra-Pro

Thanks for the Input!
But the Threads are definitely stripped.
I was told by Vanquish, that the third member that looks to not be milled is supposed to look like that.

Update on the Motor Question: I ordered the PP 2700kv in the Stubby version.... ordered on RPP with another CC MambaX, because it was still not sent by Amain.
