Glad to see you got the Ultra out on the rocks! CDM looks to be a beautiful place to go crawling! I wish I lived closer to enjoy them rocks!

I do not have the Ultra YET, but I am running the Traxxas GTS shocks on my Origin and the Dravtechs on my PRO. The GTS shocks are one of the smoothest and leak free shocks that I have ran and I have them on many of my rigs.

Thanks for the tip on the Traxxas shocks! Will add that to the consideration list as well.....clearly, I have yet to make up my mind on what to do.

While at my LHS looking for some replacement shocks I spotted something bright and shiny, literally! A future project got fast forwarded a little when I saw the MyTrickRC light kit on the wall.

From the pics on the MyTrickRC website, you can see they installed the front rock lights on the 45 degree angle of the chassis rail with zip ties, but there were no pics of the rear rock lights. I googled for about an hour and came up empty, so I reached out to their customer support and learned they applied the same method to the rear rock lights. Makes total sense in hind sight

A little modification of the wheel wells and all 4 lights were installed.

Wanted to share how I installed mine in case anyone is considering a set for their rid. Shorter days are here now so I am going to need a little artificial light to help me scratch the crawling itch.

Will share some pics from the app for a visual as well.

Was finally able to get a non-blinding pic of the rock lights on the Ultra. These lights are crazy bright but will work great at night I am sure.

That looks good!

This may be my next build. I want to do something from scratch, but also this kit looks very intriguing.

They are good rigs, well thought out and require little to no upgrades out of the box. Worth every penny in my opinion, as the upgrades I have put into other kits push the costs up close to that of a Vanquish.

Looking forward to your future build thread

Oh yeah, I believe it. I have quite a bit into my TRX4 and still going up lmao.

I’ll definitely be looking into these more for sure.

Spent the day at CDM today with my Ultra and my 10.3.

Broke in some new tires today, switched to a harder compound than I usually run (G8 instead of Predator) on my Kralwers. Performance was about the same and they wear a lot less....more budget friendly

Spent a lot of time on one line to compare the two rigs and the Ultra won that easily cause of the lower CG.

Continue to be impressed with how well this performs right out of the box. Back to the rocks....

I also conducted a very thorough body durability test today

It passed with flying colors.
