I built up my phoenix and have been having some heat issues out of the motor. Holmes Puller Pro Stubby 2700, Mamba X, on 3S. Stock gearing. The truck seems to roll smoothly and I can't seem to find any binding that would cause excess heat.
Anyone else find these trucks run hot?

I've seen others mentions it, but the body that came in my Phoenix kit appears to have been poorly cut/cracking. Not terribly impressed considering the price of these kits, but I'm not going to sweat it too much. That said, has anyone had any luck getting a replacement, or should I assume that QC issues on the bodies are par for the course?

I would like to get another Phoenix and now that VP is throwing in a set of VP wheels, it looks like now is a great time to buy one!

But since all of my money is now going to gas stations and grocery stores, the Phoenix will have to wait!

In the same boat (partly because I recently traded in my Prius for a RAV4). I even went so far as to add it to my cart, even selecting the wheels, but backed out before submitting payments.

What??? Yeah, I'll admit, I do that a lot too!

I also have a habit of just leaving stuff in my carts and forgetting about them. Amain always reminds me that I left my cart sitting unattended though!

I was SOOOOO close to pulling the trigger on a second Phoenix...especially for the wheels...but, I just couldn't pass on the $110 off the Tekno MT410, or the $20 off the blue/gray Tamiya CC-02 Unimog (especially considering I've spent a few months collecting Hop-Ups for the Unimog, including the Tamiya TAM54948 Track Units).

Eventually, I'll pick up a second, build it...and, then, give it to my stepdad.

Just thought I'd let everyone know, the "few wheels deal" is NOT just available through the Vanquish website - they are also offering the deal through the Amain website. Valid May 18 thru June 20.

So I suppose the Phoenix comes with 80mm shocks (kit arrives Tuesday). What's the pros and cons of installing longer shocks? I have the idea that it would be a good thing for crawling, but don't really know.

Im running the 80mm on my gspeed v3 phoenix n they work wonderfully. The 90mm may be ok, if u run a bit of droop. Otherwise it may sit the truck up n guve u a higher COG. The 80mm are to compensate for the portal boxes on the axles

Yeah, what bama said. The 80mm shocks IMO are perfect for the Phoenix. Just the right amount of flex. They are nice and smooth and so far on mine, leak free!

I've actually been thinking about buying another set of these shocks to try on another build. VP now offers them in different colors too.

That's funny you say that! That is usually what I always do!

And the free wheels just makes it that much better! Just wish I had the extra cash right now get another Phoenix!

what we really need is for VANQUISH to give us the same deal but on the PRO... ME wants a pro ... just not motivated enough to cough up the coin ... now that id they were to offer the wheel deal on it ... believe it there be one less on their shelves.

patiently waiting ans wishing they see this message ...

give us free wheels with the PRO.
