Default JDM’s VS4-10 Phoenix

I just picked up one of these kits and completed the front axle build last night. I’ll probably be going pretty slow on this build since I’ll be doing some detail painting along the way.

Anyway, I saw all you guys having all the fun and I’ve never had a Vanquish truck, so I thought what the hell?

Any build advice is appreciated.

I will spare you the build pics unless I have something unique to share, lol.

Oh, I am. I have built so far both axles and the frame. About to start the transmission. I already have the machined X-case gears for that.

Since I have the machined gears, how should I set up the slipper?

So, I have a roller!

One thing I did notice, is my kit came with a "revised" shock spring adjuster ring. Much harder plastic and went on with no issues.

Are you finished yet? What electronics did you go with? Ive been specking out my build and Im over $1000 not counting the kit and tires/wheels. I have to get radio, servos (3), speed control and motor. Getting pricey. Thinking of rethinking my electronics.

All done but the body. Test drove it around the room and dig and overdrive shifting is working as it should.

I'm using a Reef's 444 steering servo and the shift servos are some left over stock steering servos from other RTR's. Radio is Flysky GT5.

Finally done, just have a few things left to button up and take it out for a test run.

Thanks. I got a spare mounted up using a stock wheel and tire from my Wraith 1.9. I also have the Incision series 1 light kit coming for it and am working on the full cell cover paint this weekend.

Thanks, I had the KMC from a previous build and the grille I got off Aliexpress for pretty cheap. It just had to take the slow boat from China.

Here are some pics of the spare mounted up and the lights:

Anybody notice how ridiculously oversized the windshield wipers are that come with the kit? I had to cut mine down a lot so they would look like they fit.
