I worked on the interior last night. I decided to use the Element Gatekeeper interior. Since I ended up buying 3 Gatekeeper Builders Kits last year, I've got a couple spare interiors floating around here.

Had to chop most of the outer edges off in order to fit inside the narrow cab of the '35 Hot Rod Truck. Painted the underside Tamiya PS-5 Black, then used the film on top and cut around the drivers. Sprayed both with Tamiya PS-63 Bright Gun Metal to match the outside color and then topped the whole interior with Tamiya PS-55 Flat Clear to dull the shiny look.

Installed the Twisted Tree RC skull whip antenna and hung the green "lucky" dice on the rearview mirror that was included with the dice. Put a dab of E6000 on the mirror to hold it to the inside of the windshield.

Decided to go with the skull, well, because it matches the Rock Pirates RC pirate logo!

The interior is held in with a few strips of Velcro. I cut out the side windows and added the LEGO netting to each window opening. This LEGO netting is the perfect scale and looks great! I held the netting in place with a few drops of black hot glue on the top and bottom of the netting.

That's a kick ass hot rod, that skull needs a stogy. I hope to see pics in the
sticky of it on the roll.

First off, thanks for the kind comments guys! This scheme was really a struggle and I had to dig deep to figure it out. Just glad it turned out half way descent!

Yes he does! I'll ask him if he smokes! Can't wait to get it out on the rocks! When the white stuff melts though!

Appreciate the love bama!! The '33 Coupe would be another cool old school body to use!

Received the frames and compared them to the stock ones. This set me into a deep thought mode (rare). I don't mind part substitutions and deviations from the stock configuration but I want these two Phoenix builds to be somewhat stock. But, I like the RP frame and shock towers and want to use them. So I'm thinking of a hybrid frame approach where I maintain the front and back sections of the stock frame but use the central section of the RP frame. Don't know if it will work but we will carefully move in that direction. Pics forthcoming unless everything is trash. Oh what the hay, pics forthcoming regardless.

Nice! What color did you get?

Interesting deep thought you had! Curious to see what that will look like!

Stainless steel natural finish. Not magnetic so probably 303 or 304.

Not sure which way to go (bootie look familiar Twade?).

RP gives a bit more low weight. VP has holes in correct positions (not a big deal).

One thing I hate about the stock vs410 frame is how the front and rear dip down so low. To me that's the biggest advantage the RP rails have. I just chopped the front off one of my vs410 frames to get better approach angle and fit with the body I'm using on it.
