VFD Questions

Greetings all, I have a few questions about the new VFD Portal transmission:

1. Does the VFD Twin have the same mounting position on the skid as the standard VFD? Do the mounting holes line up?

2. Has anyone made the standard VFD work for the F10 Portals ( knowing to reverse motor rotation )?

Thanks,

s

Re: VFD Questions

1. The VFD and the VFD Twin use different skids and mount different. Each trans comes with their own skid.

2. The standard VFD does work with portals as seen with the Ultra. I believe, but not completely sure since I do not own an Ultra, the only change in gearing is that each trans uses a different size spur gear.

Someone with more knowledge with the Ultra may want to add their 2 cents.;-)

Another option for a skid is to use a flat skid and drill mounting holes with spacers.

You are correct Brian.

The left rear mounting holes are in different positions.

The only gearing difference between pro/ultra and f10 straight/portal is spur and pinion changes.

Re: VFD Questions

Many thanks guys. We will model up a new skid for our chassis on the computer and go from there. Appreciate the info!
