Thanks. It would be useful just to work out wheel speed difference.

I'm not understanding the "rollout" chart... 86t spur divided by a 14t pinion gives a 6.14 ratio. How do you get the 7.86 ratio?

I think Rich is using rollout to define how many mm the truck rolls forward for 1 rev of the motor.

7.86 mm per rev on a 115 mm tire.

On the roll out ratio question you gotta remember it includes the axle ratio not just the pinion and spur..thats the difference your not seeing...

I do wish they would have gave us a better axle ratio even if they had to make the center of the housing just a tad larger...even if a tad larger they would still be the best looking plastic rtr housings on the market...right up there with the t rex 60's I think.. and definitely better than the ar60 due to the ar60 width...if the ar60's was in scx width they would kick ass too...I so hope aftermarket makes a super hard spiral ring and pinion with a super small pinion and as large as possible ring... maybe get closer to a 3 to 1 ratio if possible.but I do love these housings..

I am still a bit confused. If i go for the 2-speed option the first gear is just like the original ratio and the second adds an go-faster-ratio?
I am currently thinking about which motor to buy and if my thoughts above are right i'll go for a slow high-torque one for powerfull crawling and shift into second for fast passages and drifting in the snow.
