Talking RolandRockshop's K5 Blazer

Was so excited when i 1st saw a pic of this rig many months ago.

Back in my teens i built a K5...8in lift..39's..warn bumper/winch..rebuilt engine..Gunmetal grey paint job..custom Alum dash panel i made and interior side panels out of alum.
I was riding high..

Always liked the style/look of the chevy blazer.
So i had to get a kit of course!

So without further duuude...

Here's the start..

A package from Rpphobby?
Hmmm...

Signed from the boss himself!!!

Opening the Box...

Goodlord that body is HUGE!!

Tires..parts... oh my!!

Bag's A-G..

Mandatory Box flex shot...kinda stiff..

Still undecided what color scheme to go with???
Matte black...ALL
Metallic Gunmetal grey
2 tone..Navy blue w Black top and silver/chrome accents

?????

Foam/tires/wheels setup...

Foams..
Did some static foam testing with the V TSL sx's last night.
Crawler Innovations 4.50 inners with soft/med outers fit and felt very nice.

Could use the 4.25 inners if you really wanted alot of tire carcass flex.

The Single stage foams from the xl swamper fit as well for heavy weight rig setups.

wheels...
Vp 8hole black w black phase 5 rings...
350/475 slw hubs..
Lockedup Rc scale hardware.

tires...
Vaterra Tsl Sx's
Pitbull madbeast

I did that same trick with the diff cover nuts, they just about pissed me off.

I vote Gun Metal, it just look so pretty.

Well thats quick , my two cents say go flat black two tone. Black gloss top with flat black bottom. Will make those vps pop for sure, I be sitting in on this one as you progress.

Only one thing I don't like about this truck so far is the front Cvds, I've got the twin hammers and have nothing but problems

Got the chassis built...
links built..

All assembled..ready for electrics!

Upper link issue..66mm/61mm

Front upper link...instructions say to use the 66m and spacer. Doing so makes the knuckles tilt downward..not good.
So i swapped to the other 61mm link and spacer, knuckles were to far back, added the lil black spacer..perfect!

Fully compressed..

Love the beefy shocktowers and molded in spots for the braces/supports.
