| Anyone with body fitment issues?
So I got my kit all put together (I will post pics soon) and I am very proud of my K5. I made some notes on the build pros and cons (most have been brought up that I can see). I get to mounting the body and when I line the chassis mounts up with the pre-marked dot on the body, the body is sitting on the tires. Its parallel and flush to the front bumper as one would expect, but its like an inch away from the rear bumper. I checked wheelbase but its where it should be and thumbed through the manual but all seems in order. I moved the front bumper spacers and added them to the rear and slid the body back. Now it looks like it should, fenders are over the tires, and the chassis mounts are about a half inch from the pre-marked body holes. Any thoughts. It looks great I just wonder if anyone else had to do any finagling to get their body right? Did I miss something or what? Thanks. -Josh |

jhauf, I just finished my K5. I didn't have any body alignment issues. I think you made a goof somewhere. Unfortunately your going to have to double check everything. :-) Spacers go on the front and the rear bumpers. Goodluck |

| Re: Anyone with body fitment issues? As to the photo issue, do you have a Photobucket account? Just upload your photos there, then cut and past to your post. Need to see your fitment issue, everything lined up with mine.

| Re: Anyone with body fitment issues? Ok so this is what it looks like mounted in the stock holes. I have already moved the front spacers to the rear in this pick. |

| Re: Anyone with body fitment issues? A pic of the front in the stock body position. ( keep in mind that the spacers are out of the bumper already. The body fit between the bumpers in the original stock mount but the fenders were not over the wheels they were offset. |

| Re: Anyone with body fitment issues? Ok, so this is after I moved the spacers from the front bumper to the back and rearranged the body over the wheels. It looks great. Looks like it should. The pre-marked body holes still were not able to be used but it was close. |

I use an app call "Crop-Size" I just took screen shots of your small images Loaded them in the crop-size app Cropped to fit image Then resized them to be within the forums 800x600 limits Expanding out your tiny images has lost some pixel quality. Your camera must be either a (no offense) really cheap cell phone, or a digital camera set incorrectly on the image limits Last edited by THX_138; 10-20-2014 at 04:27 PM. |

I think a couple body off shots might be better to help with answers on "why" things aren't fitting ` |

your rear shocks are angled bad. Looks like you need to go back, and check the upper, and lower link spacers for the correct lengths.

Your links and WB are not correct length for the body.

Something is definitely off. To me it looks like your links might be off. Here is a quick picture i took to show the position for the Trans plate as well as the link size and spacers you need. I'll be doing a write up on what links and holes specifically for each wheel base with pictures to make this a bit easier. |

| Re: Anyone with body fitment issues? So the whole crop thing didn't turn out. Sorry! Wheelbase is at four dots. All four rear links are 66 mm. The truck looks tough like it is I just can't fig out where I went wrong. I just hope it functions like it should. Nothing is bound up and everything spins free even with the front wheels lock to lock.

don't have the kit yet but looking at the manual, i think you placed the rear shock towers up front and the front shock towers on the rear. that moves the body mounts forward. edit: i am so wrong. panhard mount is front only. haha. tried. edit2: again, looking at the cropped pics, your front mount on the shock tower seems in front while in the manual it is behind the shock tower. or am i wrong?
