| Miniriders ascender
Ok guys when I came home today I was pleasantly surprised with an ascender kit sitting next to my sons RTR, my wife got it for me (I know she's the best). I just got the Tekin 35 turn HD and the Futaba 4pls, I have a Hitec 7950TH on the way and a HH BRXL in mind for the speed control. I was also thinking about ordering the stainless screw set either from RC Screwz or KNK.

Got my axles together with the HD driveshafts and pinions! I shimmed the spool with two on the gear side and one on the opposite side it feels nice! I tried putting one 6mm shim behind the pinion but it was too tight. Stainless hardware adds a nice touch!

Ok thank you. That's what happened to me also, I'm sure I can find them at the nut and bolt places locally.

We'll rpp has some axial E2.5's so if I can't find some tomorrow I'll order them, seeing how I still need wheels and a shift servo.

Iroks with star cut factory foams and holes drilled in the tires, awesome! G made unpainted wheels that I painted desert tan.

Custom made stainless battery plates mounted to stock vaterra sliders. 3s 4000mah batteries will be paralleled through my ae2 esc.

Color turned out good but the paint went on too thick and didn't dry right I'll prolly drive it like this a while and possibly redo it.

So I stuck my garmin in my ascender today and captured the top speed in 1st and 2nd. 1st it goes 3.7 MPH and 2nd it goes 6.5MPH with a 35turn tekin and 3s lipos. The gearing is factory vaterra gearing whatever that is lol.

| Re: Miniriders ascender Looks like you have the updated diff covers with the large plastic protrusions on the inside, from what I've seen the early Ascenders have just a plastic plate without those protrusions on the backside? My RTR has those. Like the Desert tan outside paint and wheels, reminds me of my old Toyota. |

? I ordered mine when it was announced, got one of the first batch Horizon received, and I have the same diff covers... Both of mine do, I've never seen anything else different.

Ok, I know the last update was a few months ago but damn, twin 4000mah 3s packs. I run one of those Gforce packs in my scx10 with a 4 pole brushless system and I have never hit the voltage cutoff before I was done driving (even after 3.5 hours). Minirider probably hasn't had time to update this thread since February because he is still driving around on that first charge. |
