Default New Ascender for me

Got this kit for my birthday along with a battery, rims and a Tamiya kit lol.

So does anyone have pictures of battery mounting options other than the shorty pack as for me those were really expensive?

thanks

Not an exciting start but it was nice to see metal gears in the trans to start off with! Also did the rims and tires. Used Gmade raw steel rims and tires and they are pretty good, they have some weight and they supply some great instructions and 2 longer screws to get the rim sandwiched. Trans cover plate has a tab to tuck the motor wires in, which I though was a great idea.

Yay more building, ran into a couple issues I posted in the sticky thread about things to know. Biggest problem was 4 screws with 1 the wrong size, I might just cut the one down to size or see if it got switcheroo in another bag somewhere. Its the ones holding the c-hubs on. Some spacers didn't work right in step b-7 either

Screws from B bag mismatched size

This is the step that confused me. It shows spacer vtr232076 being used but when I use it I can not put the hex adapters on the other side. Has anyone else seen this?

Bummer about the screws. I can see one the wrong size slipping in there. If you can't or do not want to cut it, please call our product support and they will replace the screw.

As for the spacer, you may need to press the bearing or axle a little more into the hub. This spacer between the bearings is used to keep from crushing the bearings when the wheel is tightened down. Based on the images, this is all i can guess that is the issue.

Hey thanks for the reply, fixed the spacer between the bearings, not sure how I mess that up, it was late for me last night when I was doing this lol. Ill just cut the screw when im done everything else, It might be floating in a bag somewhere. I checked all my hardware and I have nothing that short. Great I got a response so fast though

use the JCad aluminum battery mount for the battery and you can move your electronics up front..
45w oil in the shocks prevents torq twist.
gease axles with waterproof grease
Dont listen to the axial people claiming the blazer body is too big..
pay close attention to the frame locations for sizing..
tighten shocks down 1/2 way.. seem to work better.
the swampers work really well.. dont discard them.
put a light kit in if you have talent lol
Check the post about building your ascender on how to tighten the slipper clutch.

Bash the hell out of it.

Jcad is already ordered
haven't greased the axels but I will when its run time just like my other vehicles
blazer body is big, but it fits the chassis
swampers are already mounted to the the rims and ready to go
I have a light kit sitting here for the light buckets.

This wont get beat on for a bit, that's why I built the other truck.

New Boyer chassis

I like it, paint didn't come out too bad and it's gonna get scratched up anyways.

No rubbing Also sold this truck to a friend of mine, he put dirt grabbers on the rims and they look great! Hope he has fund with it. I drove it outside my house for a bit and was not enthused really, same thing happened to me with the sawback. Guess as u build and learn the kits get less exciting??
