The E-clip size is 3mm and the part number is VTR236131
The 2.5mm nut can also be found in VTR236013

Hope this helps,
Rich
The e clip for the shift fork is not 3mm. I'm gonna get some 2.5mm ones recommended by JDMGUY760. 3mm just slides right on the end of the shaft.

You could make that e-clip smaller and fit to that shaft with pliers. I modified some lock washers to hold the sift fork on the axle, because I couldn't wait to go testing the transmission. Works fine.

For videos about two speed trans, there is atleast one in this topic, maybe i could make another video which shows the difference better.

I hope the parts list is up to date cuz I'm about to order everything. I have Losi 22 and SCTE, Traxxas and other parts laying around, would any of these work?

Just ordered the parts for my Ascender, I presume the list on post #1 is the most updated?

Just the servo to decide on I think.. Do I need a high torque metal geared servo or just a standard mini?

Im unsure of the load that will be put on it as its just for shifting a shaft, whats the verdict for those that have tried it?

There were brands and part numbers listed for couple good servos in this thread, start at page one and read through. High torque and metal gears can't hurt.

Sticky would be great. An updated pays list would be better. There's some stuff missing from the list and if someone doesn't take the time to read all the posts they'll end up missing hardware

Agreed on both accounts. Like don't forget the 2.5mm E-clips.

So,

Just completed the 2 speed tranny upgrade.

I was wondering, has anyone done this upgrade while using GCM Racing's Combo kit? Meaning my tranny and motor are relocated to the front of the rig using the shock towers?

I am assuming just fabbing a longer shift rod or something. Because, right now, the existing shift rod is pointing towards my front bumper. A long ways away from the GCM transfer case I installed. On GCM's site, it states that it has a cradle on their transfer case to install a mini servo for a 2-speed transmission.! Yay!! Do they show a pic of this being completed? LOL. Naw, of course now, Where's the fun in that? Hah..

Anyhow. I have a pic as to what I am dealing with.

The red mark is the shift rod coming out of the tranny. The yellow is where this "convenient" spot is to add a mini servo for shifting.

Hmm, wonder if I have enough room to install the mini servo right on the original spot on the transmission?

Any ideas, thoughts , or shouts would be greatly appreciated.

Thinking of contacting GCM Racing and seeing if they have any ideas as well.

Thanks.

I don't see why you couldn't just flip the rod in the trans and open the hole out that back side of the trans case. It should work fine that way, and my guess is that gcm is thinking a similar way, or a long rod running up along side. In my opinion flipping the shaft is the easier way

Cool thanks for the tip.. And, yeah, don't see why that wouldn't work.
