I could do with more wheel speed even though It was running 3s. I might try gearing it up a little next drive. Also lighter shock oil. Apart from that, nothing to do.

Thanks. As you might hear on the video, there is some tire rub, so will sort that out and also put a bit more weight on the front. It drives that well, I don't want to do much to it.

The stock body rubs quite a bit also. That's all I am using for now, until I decide what body I am going to go with.

I haven't even taken the stock body out of the bag. I might keep it, don't know yet. This Land Rover shell suits it very nicely. I might look into bumpers sometime. Don't know about winch, servo or otherwise as I don't use the one on my other truck much.

What kind of body were you thinking of getting?

Something different that is not used alot. Maybe F250, old F100, the body you used, there was a Mercedes I saw on ebay also. I am also still searching just in case there is something out there that I would like that I haven't seen. f

Thats the one I was thinking of but I would have to do some tinkering. It has a 13" wheelbase. Thought about shortening it or maybe making a truggy.

Broke the pin on the front axle cv this morning. I was expecting something to go sometime, so not too bothered about it. It looks as if the shaft has been rubbing on the outside of the cup. Hopefully a little grinding, or clocking the axle slightly will solve this until I can get some MIP's.

I think I might just try to rotate the axle back a bit. I haven't stripped anything yet as too busy. I would have to wait a couple of weeks if I order the MIP shafts as postal and customs are so slow to UK. It looks as if the pin is the only broken part. When I get it apart I will check all the assembly.

Thanks. It looks good, but I'm not a great painter as some has started to come off already. It's a shame HPi discontinued this body I think. My nephew has an SCX10 Land Rover and I call it Larry lol. Maybe Descender for mine?

I have reassembled the axle using a drill shank for a pin. However the male part of the driveshaft is slightly twisted. I don't know if this could have added to the pin failure, but a drive tomorrow will find out. I am ordering MIP shafts, but don't expect them to be here for sometime. Replacing the pin out on the trail could be awkward, so I am thinking of building up a spare bare axle ( housing, input shaft, pinion and ring gear) as this is easy to carry and change. Parts are not easy to find in the UK at the moment. Typical of shops over here to sell a product and not carry spares. I have ordered stuff from the states before and used DHL. Often It's less than a week to arrive. You Yanks got it so good.

I spent yesterday installing MIP drive shafts and a Tekin 30T hand wound motor.

went out on to soggy Dartmoor and had a good time. Very impress with what it will climb and the tight steering circle is a great bonus over the Axial land barge circle. Eventually though a pin in the left front cv broke, but not too bad for a new truck.

The first photo on the grass I was surprised how well it did seeing as the grass was very wet from rain. The second photo, the Ascender is easily a couple of pounds lighter than my SCX10 based truck, so seems to drive over mud rather than through it.

I am lucky if we get snow where I live. The area I went yesterday is high ground, but only gets some snow in mid winter. Mostly rain as you can tell by the water.

Well the front was the shaft breaking, and at the rear the pinion went.

Some video. I'm no expert cameraman as you can see. Nothing broke this time.
