You're welcome, yes I like the axles with incorporated c-hubs. Nice.

Those tires look nice and I'm wanting to do one of mine 4.19" tires like my Honcho was, great working truck. I'm kinda tired of all the huge tires lol.

Yeah, the big Deep Woods 4.75's on No2 are really a little large, but work so well I'm ok with that. They really suit the Komodo body I have on my Sawback as it's a big body. I will get some pics of that sometime. I haven't driven the Sawback much as the leaf springs bend easily and I'm too busy to deal with it.

The MTR's should suit the Land Rover body ok, they are about the same size as the stock Ascender tires.

The RC4WD tires turned up today, just as I was about to leave for work! On quick inspection they are smaller than the Vaterra Swampers by 1/4" and also narrower. I'll get some pics when I get home.

Photos!!

Size comparison to the stock Ascender tires. Smaller than I thought, but am installing them to give them a go.

Inside of the tire has the ribs for stiffness although the stock foam is quite stiff anyway.

On the truck they looked too small to me.

But lowering the body posts 1 hole improved the look.

The tires fitted easily on the Gear Head wheels. The beads seem quite thick, but not too much.

Almost 2am here, so off to bed.. G'night.

Looks good with the body lowered. You'll notice better ability to side hill with the smaller tires and lower body. Give them a try!

Very nice with body lowered one hole, I would try two holes, maybe mild trim if needed. Sidehill will be much better.

Nice wheel/tire setup... (heh-heh)
GearHead makes great wheels....

my 1.7"s are coming! Same 4.19" OD, I've already lowered my cab 6mm (2 holes?), but the I think the fenders openings are bigger on the K10 than your Defender (especially since I trimmed them a bit for the stock tires). On the new K10 cab, I'm leaving them untrimmed, think the 4.19" OD will be OK. It's a shame lowering the back of the cage is not easily done...

Well I got out yesterday. Cold 5C, but sunny. These tyres work better than the stock Vaterra in slippery stuff. That's probably due to the more aggressive tread. I think the foams are a touch too stiff though. i didnt get any body rub, but if I lower the body more I will have to cut the front more than I would like.

Only a couple of photos as I meant to take my small tripod with me to do some video, but forgot. I also had a problem with the front diveshaft grub screws working loose on the transmission and giving me rear wheel drive only. I'm stripping the transmission down tomorrow and drilling the output shaft to take axial drive pins.

The foams may break-in with use, especially when it warms up for you... We are also having a cold snap this weekend, so I'm expecting similar results. Curious if the additional amount of sidewall (tires same height, but smaller wheels inside) will provide any noticeably difference. Sucks about your drivetrain!

Thanks. I was looking on the CI website, but unsure what foams would fit. will see how it goes with the stock for now.

Those are stiill 1.9s, correct? You could buy some foams and trim them to fit with sharp scissors. Any foam needs a half dozen good crawl sessions to break in properly and they all soften some with use and age.
