Bummer, I got my kit last week and ordered the MIP shafts and the HD pinions. I got the HD pinions but not the MIP shafts as they were backordered. I didn't know about the HD shafts. I went through my kit and it still has the standard shafts. If I had known about the HD shafts I probably would have ordered them instead of the MIP. I may still order the HD shafts. I was waiting to start the build until the shafts came in anyway. Well I did start the build, I built the tranny. LOL

If you run on rock, plastic shafts will never last...stay with the MIP's

One thing breaks or seizes the drive train, then there is a potential for a domino effect of of carnage.

I get seizing parts. But just braking due to weak parts. That just won't cut it for me

Does the latest batch of rings-pinions include hardened pinions? I can't tell the difference between what was in the pack and the hardened pinions I also bought.

I just got my kit from the big brown truck and I can verify HD gears and HD shafts are not in the kit. RPP will be getting more of my $$$ for some MIP shafts and HD gears.

I would like to know that answer also. I got my Ascender two weeks ago and it appears to have the non-HD gears. I can tell the drive shafts were the originals. I had MIP's on the same order, so that wasn't an issue. I also had the HD gears ordered, but at the last minute, I was emailed from RPP saying the shipment they were to get was delayed, so my order shipped without those. I assumed that so much time had passed since the issue arose, I would get the upgraded gears, but I don't believe that was the case. RPP must have got a boatload of these trucks!!!

The HD pinions teeth are webbed together on the bearing side. The non HD pinion teeth are not webbed together.

I have been running mine for a few weeks now with no issues on stock parts. I have the MIPS and HD gears but until I need them I won't install, but I'm not comping either. I'm running stock motor, Tekin ESC on 3S.

We're working to get these much much sooner than that. The date listed is an "Automatically" generated date based on our inventory system. I don't have an exact date yet but like i said, we're working on getting these here quick.

Glad to hear Rich. Mine will be here Thursday, don't have HD gears yet that I know of, so run it till it breaks is my thoughts.

So people are still breaking their shafts and gears?
I've got a good 50 hours of hard crawling on mine with only breaking one shaft when it got bound up in the rocks. Everything else works great. climbs over everything.

What were the circumstances when it gave up the ghost? Climbing?, crawling in really rough stuff? Speed run?

Battery and motor?

Some of this info may shed some light as to why they are breaking. I've climbed a lot of gnarly stuff with mine and no issues.
