Default Shift servo?

I have not done any research on this yet, why would my shift servo "bounce" and sometimes pop out of gear under heavy throttle? It goes right back into gear when I stop or slow down. I have a HS-225MG Hitec.

Check your end points to make sure the servo is shifting the trans all the way into gear.

Ok it Is adjusted correctly. As soon as i full throttle it the servo starts glitching. Or "bouncing"

Could be a bad servo. I've seen on planes a servo will work fine on the bench, but when you throttle up the servo starts glitching from the vibration.

Default Shift servo?

FWIW, I found it took longer to get end points set properly on my Ascender 2-speed than on my TF2. The Vaterra tranny seems to be more finicky. I started by setting endpoints on the bench (set to max throw in each direction without hearing buzzing from the servo). I then put it on the floor to run around shifting and switching forward to reverse. After doing that for a minute or two, one or both end points turned out not to be right (with the tranny sometimes popping out of a gear or not getting into one). So I reset on the bench and retested. I had to go through this 3 or 4 times to get it working properly. Good luck!

The other issue you may be having is not enough power to the shift servo. Are you running a BEC to power both servos?

No bec on the shift servo because my steering servo runs 7.4 volts and the shift servo is rated for 6, I may have to throw a second bec in. I do start to notice this problem a little more when the batteries run low. I will mess with it some more today now that the batteries are recharged and see what happens thanks for the ideas.

Sounds like you're on the right track. Also worth checking your ESC's internal BEC setting if you haven't already. If it's not set at 6v, worth trying that before adding another BEC.

Ok cool thank you. I also heard from my lhs some people add a small capacitor in the system to help with the spikes.

Turns out my analog HS-225MG servo did not like the signal it was getting. I stuck a fullsize digital JR servo in place and it works much better now. The 4pls can control digital and analog servos but idk if you can mix them at least not that I've figured out yet. The JR servo is nice because it can handle high voltage like my steering servo. I will connect it to the steering servo bec soon but right now it's just running off the internal bec of the ae-2.
