Default Looneybins K5

Well i finally getting my toes back in the water. Ordered a kit from RPP and got it assembled yesterday. Going to be a mini me build of my 1:1 K5. Despite the 20s its not just a mall crawler. 7in suspension and 2in body lifts, spray in bedliner interior with diamond plate panels, 2003 tahoe power seats, 8 lugs stuffed with lockers and 4:56. Needless to say it has pulled me away from the hobby to build it up this past year. Vaterra hooked me though when they introduced the ascender.

The plans. Going to try some 2.2 wheel combos with stretched 1.9 tires. Full interior with front mounted trans and tcase. Removable top with full family cage. Actually plan to leave this with the fab shop doing my 1:1 cage so they can see what i want. Ar60s narrowed on leafs or links unless the current axles just impress the hell out of me.

Nice! Check out my build in 1.9 scalers. I stretched some 1.9s onto 2.2s. They look nice. project altered attitude.' I'll be watching this!

Gonna be a little slow waiting on parts and $$ but got a good start on mod #1. Cut the stock motor plate and used one trans hole through the front shock tower. Then i was able to make a couple of aluminum brackets to support the rear of the trans. It all just clears the front shock tower support stand off with stock gearing. Had to dremel the shock tower on the inside to clear the spur gear as well just like the gcm kit. Now i have to get a transfer case.

Got some scale body mounts made up. They also bolt up to to cover the holes in the chassis for adjusting wheelbase. The metal floor board will mount to these on rubber bushings just like the 1:1 truck. The plan is to have the steel floorpan and inner bed perminantly mounted to the chassis. I built one a while back that was similar with full interior, cage, opening tube doors, and more. Going to be a very heavy truck when it done.

Hopefully i will be able to get the rear section bent up. Going to build up the floor in steel so the cage will have a good place to tie into
