Electronics layout help????? Hey guys just got a second ascender and I don't want to have to buy another shorty lipo to run it. I would like to use a normal 2s lipo in it. When it's done it's gonna have a yota body on it like the green one but it wont be dovetailed front and rear but the bed will be bobed and fenders cut. The body sits low on the chassis so I don't have much room. Thee bed sits right on top of the recievers box to give you an idea of how low it sits. I've spent a few hours trying to figure something out but I can't so now I ask you guys for help lol. What's your layout like? http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06...3d0968ef5d.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06...fc746f4ed3.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Electronics layout help????? What about the JCAD battery plate? Would something like this work with that body?http://www.jcautodesign.com/uploads/...71035_orig.jpg |
Re: Electronics layout help????? Yes but would the tires hit at full lock ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Electronics layout help????? What about the battery in the bed maybe under some sort of cover or tool box |
Re: Electronics layout help????? I did that on my tundra based scx10 and would like to try to keep it under the body on this one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Electronics layout help????? The JC auto designs battery plate will not hit the tires, what hit the tires is a lipo that's too long, as for the electronics, the only thing I did was servo tape my RX8 GEN2 to the top of the transmission, it works for me since I've yet to find an interior for the K-5 body. |
Re: Electronics layout help????? Will the plate work with the shorter wheelbase since the chassis gets shorter Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Electronics layout help????? Normal lipo, Axial battery plate on the chassis rails. I really like the floating plate idea, just didn't have any lipos that fit. http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/r...pssynlinfn.jpg http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/r...pssbpenezm.jpg |
Re: Electronics layout help????? Mine is very similar and worx great! I used some angle alum I had layin around and made brackets then drilled thru the Axial battery mount plate. Here r a few pic's http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...525_142526.jpg http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...525_142627.jpg Simple and worth a try, make it what ever size u need for ur lipo's |
Re: Electronics layout help????? I was asked to chime in here. The JCAD plate is not set up to work with the 2 shorter wheelbases (since the servo is mounted sideways instead of longways) but I was working on a shorty option. I've been swamped with school and work lately, and haven't had a chance to get any new products going, but I would hope before the summer is over, I will have the plate available. Keep an eye out for it. |
