Mount your battery normal in the tray, better forward and low weight bias, stock battery tray is sweet! Crossways like that does not sidehill as well ime. Nice start on interior too!

The smallest pinion at my lhs was a 12tooth. Hope that will be low enough. I can also tweak the throttle curve on the mmp I guess. Also picked up a venom 3s 2100 pack that the shop had on clearance for 10 bux. Now just need some connectors for the mmp and a mounting plate(im gonna mount it next to the servo for now.)

This is the difference between my old 2s as opposed to the new 3s:

They are the exact same demensions xept for length.

Will the mmp need the stock fan on 3s w the 45 turn brushed motor?

Probably not, but why do you want to remove it?

I have an older mmp in my slash 2wd that I bought used. The fan was missing when I bought it. Without the fan, I could fit all of my elecs onto the battery tray with the battery facing front to back, on its side. Hmmmm.....

OK, give it a try and monitor esc temps closely. I think it will be fine with 35T or the 45T motor that you have, just don't run a ROC412 that way. Let us know. If it's getting too warm, buy a fan for it, they are cheap.

I can run it all day on 2s in my 2wd slash MT w vxl 4pole geared for 30 mph, and it's only hit 125 on the hottest summer days. Do brushed motors work the mmp harder than bl motors?

Whelp I haven't posted on this in a long time. But, happy to say that I've been driving the snot out of it and having a blast. I've done nothing to it besides the 3s and mmp. It's so much more fun now. Still stock. I'm pulling the mmp, and looking for a cheap 3s wp ESC. Any eBay sellers carry the stock ESC for cheap? I wanna do some wet running at a great location I've recently found.

Rc recyclers on eBay usually has the stock dynamite esc. I've bought several things from them and they're great to deal with.

The Hobbywing 1060 is essentially the same as the RTR ESC and can be bought new from Amazon for $21 (and be at your house in 2 days if you're a Prime member). RTR take off ESCs on ebay are still about $10 more expensive and don't give you a warranty.

If you can budget a bit more, for ~$50-$55, the Castle Sidewinder 3 comes waterproof, runs both brushed and brushless, and still has all the PC programmable goodness that the MMP has.

Cool the1060 looks great. No mention of any drag brake in the manual. Does it work in the fwd/rev mode??? Cant drive this thing without a drag in a no neutral mode.... Found it under 20 shipped on eBay too

It has two jumpers same as Vaterra, so yes has adjustable drag brake.

OK thanks. No explanation of that in the 1060 manual. Only option it gives is to switch between fwd/brake, fwd/brk/rev, and fwd/rev with the jumpers. Hope it has drag, just ordered it.

So finally started reading through natedogs thread. Inspired me to get off my ass and mod something on my still stock rig lol. 2 fifty for the music wire, had everything else:

The wire is too thin. .062 I think. Next size up was .076 I think. I'll have to stop and pick up some and bend another. Next up will be limiting shocks. Can I just drop to a lighter wt oil instead of reaming the pistons???

Nice job bending the one peice swaybar, harder than it looks without a good bender. Buy a couple sizes of wire while you're there just in case. The holes are so small and partially blocked by the piston retaining e-clips, you really need to drill them.
