I like that there is another closed cab body option for other tube framed truggies but other than that, it's the same frame looks like to me. Don't get me wrong, I moved over to the Vaterra camp last year and love it. Axial got everyone started with the complete crawler in a box(Scorpion) but it seems like it's a day late on introducing new designs . We shall see what upgrades are under the body

This seems like it fits the short wheel base? I'd be interested in getting the body if it is long wheel base like the blazer.

I see that Fox decal on the side. I wonder if they have made a marketing arrangement that yields Vaterra vehicles with "genuine" Fox Shocks.

I also wonder if there is a bed that will be available for that cab.

that red gas tank in the back looks good and the way the rear cage mounts to the frame is pretty slick too!

On the Vaterra Website photos, it looks like it was just painted red.

So much want. I just want the (hopefully dyed plastic) red fuel cell and the body / cage and I'd be a happy camper.

This thing is gorgeous. Whether or not it convinces me to buy a whole new rig or just the body, we'll see. Short wheelbase makes it different enough for me as a K5 guy, but I could always just switch up my current wheelbase. We shall see, but somehow or another I will have it haha.

I wouldn't mind seeing the option for a bed as well.

Funny because right before I saw this announcement I was looking at Vaterra's C10 body that goes on one of their drifters (i think) and wondering how that would fit up with the Ascender. Also wonder how this would look if you kept the longer wheelbase. My only minor disappointment was that it looks like their are no built in lightbuckets like on the K5 Blazer body.

Figures.... They release this as I am just about finished up doing a Silverado truggy using a honcho cage on my Ascender. Just about to finish the paint and will be done. /sigh

I like it too.

I've been looking at that other body too, but it's touring car size.

Hard to tell from the pics, but looks like stickers over clear lenses like the Bronco? I hope they are clear and ready for LEDs.

I really hope that at some point we will be able to buy the body. I also had thoughts of replacing my well worn Blazer body with a Honcho setup. This looks like a much cooler option with that grille.

The RTR is supposed to be available in late July.

It would be nice if it was clear but in the pictures it looks like the headlight lenses are chrome. Kinda looks like disco balls for headlights. Also the parts explosion shows no seperate lens like on the K5 grill.

The other thing I just noticed is that for those of us running the Wraith sway bar, the holes that we mount the ball ends to are used to mount the rear cage. I think Vaterra may have missed the perfect opportunity to release their own sway bar (or other TT solution).
