I've not broken one yet, but recently switched to Gunner Pins in mine. I lube and clean them occasionally with one drop of lube per CVD, rotate by and wipe clean with a rag. What part are you breaking, pics?

The blunt answer to your question: There aren't any. The only option for stronger CVDs for the Ascender is to modify the front end to run CVDs meant for other vehicles. Check in Codyboy's thread for what he is working on for doing just this.

I am going to use this opportunity to express my disappointment with the vendor community for having ignored the clearly superior Ascender platform for the last 2 years only to have new parts for the SCX10 II ready a week after launch. Some small, private parties have stepped up to the plate (thank you Codyboy), but other than drop-in aluminum replacements, the aftermarket is pretty sparse. I guess that's a testament to how well Vaterra built the Ascender.

I make a upgrade that uses axial universals.

I turned these knuckles so I can add my home brew brass brake weights.

I would like to add, contrary to my semi-rant above, neither the little lady nor I have broken a CVD since we bought our Ascenders, and she is crazy hard on her truck. Actually, we haven't broken anything between the two of us and we have run every weekend since the snow finally left in March.

Talking with some of the local guys i am not the only one broking them at 36 bucks a set. Gets expensive other than that i love this truck. Only think i charged out on mine was the trans for a 2 speed, shocks( boomracing droopsetup) tires (irocs) and rim(ssd) and front bumper (ssd) so i had i solid bumper for winching

They do look similar, but the GPM's are a little bigger near the CVD joint, which is where my orig snapped in half.

I talk with them about product improvement and ideas, but the more customers who talk with them about parts breakage and improvement ideas, the quicker and more likely it gets properly addressed. Yes, please call them.
Thanks, Nate
