Nice, Ilove the scale leafsprung TF2, good to help your kids with a positive hobby! I just picked up some more servo extensions yesterday, Michael's has some cool dollhouse stuff for us scalers too. Make sure you insulate and waterproof well before sheetrocking, will make it a much nicer place. Disco Hair looks like a really cool helper too! |

When I was into 1:1 crawling, I had a couple 83 Toyota pickups, one nice and one trail beater. I have a really old hilux body that will be the beater and the kit body will be the nice one. Fortunately, the house is new so the basement is already insulated and waterproofed so even with the easiest basement finish job in the world, it's still taking 3 plus years Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | |

| Re: Spaceman "builds" an ascender Finally got all the servo wire extensions and longer taillights installed, still need to add a steering wheel and scale bits. Now that I've added all that weight up high, I need to address the torque twist issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| Re: Spaceman "builds" an ascender Lined up the two e-clips and drilled 2 1/16" holes in each piston. Moved the outer bump stop to the inside. I used a piece of webbing from a comforter set to protect the shock shafts. Outboarded the rear shocks by adding 35mm screws and plastic spacers. Made RULR's from sheet aluminum. Installed longer screws and plastic spacers to raise ESC for link clearance. Took it for a run on the rockpile in the backyard after doing the shocks and again after the RULR and the TT was slightly reduced. Next will be an anti-sway bar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I did the same for my esc mount after adding link risers.

| Spaceman "builds" an ascender Looks like my RURL material isn't up to the task....I have some heavier aluminum I'll try next. I bought a away bar kit a while back, but it is lost in the abyss I call a work bench so I'll either order another or try plan F. The RURL and outboarding the rear shocks did not cure my torque twist, when I fix the RURL, I will assemble without the interior and see if that helps. RULR, outboard shocks all help TT, but doesn't eliminate completely, need to try some different holes. | ||

| Re: Spaceman "builds" an ascender The wife and I went to the river today and I realized how much I missed driving the Ascender. The RURL broke months ago and I've been too busy to fix it so I went back to stock location while I wait for sway bar parts. I've been running my TRX4 mostly and I've now been able to run them together for comparison and the Ascender still has the edge in my usual terrain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I wouldnt be able to resist... i would make RULR from a metal machinist... ruler! You wouldnt even need to measure and mark to drill holes! Cool cat, too! Are we ascender people the only ones with cat helpers? Might need to go lurk in axial threads... for research. |

One issue was approach and departure angles so I cut the body and moved the bumpers inward. On the front, I took out the 10mm spacers and installed 4mm spacers. The rear had a 10mm and 5mm so I removed the 10mm spacer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I guess I forgot to post that I installed a Solar D772 servo and increased the BEC output and it really improved the steering. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have had good luck with the 772's. I have one as a servo winch and run straight off my 2s battery and beat the snot out of it and it still winches great. So they'll take the high power and love it. They are absolute turds on 6volts though. Ben |
