Rubber ducky! We got ourselves a convoy! Those nice people at Vaterra have already put a hole in the front shock hoops for me! Thank you! Ground the ribs off the bottom of the tray to get it to sit as low as possible without touching the front axle on full compression. Front of tray supported by 2 screws thru shock hoops. |

Done! Wow, it’s pretty aggressive on 3S, I’m gunna have to back things off on the HW1080, everything is cranked right up, punch, drag brake, drag brake rate from the old 35T 540 motor. So much grunt now I think I will start busting things! |

My smaller diameter tires do eat up some of the speed of the 21t 550 on 3S... Now, mine doesn't have the millions of miles that yours has (I'd be willing to bet you probably hold that record, for Ascenders at least!) but it's been beaten hard with that drivetrain - and I'm also running brass SSD knuckles and rear axle lockouts, and a transverse steel full-size LiPo battery tray - with a much heavier battery pack - All things that I'd think would contribute to more potential for damage during long, steep, ass-over-tea kettle tumbles in rocky terrain. ... And, no damage as of yet! That made me think of somethin' - When is someone gonna come out with a odometer feature for R/Cs? One that does scale mileage? It'd just be for scale freaks, but I imagine it could be fun for endurance races and/or things like gathering information on component life... I'd think it would be relatively easy to program in some of these newer fancier ESCs. You'd have to set it up like you do for bicycle odometers - plug in the diameter of your tires, etc. (maybe I need to lay off the energy drinks - I'm finishing my 3rd NOS and I've been up since 4AM!) |

Take it easy Durok! What's NOS? Energy drink? Put the HW1080 and HH35T 540 motor in the Bronco, the K10 is almost as fast on 2S as the Bronco on 3S. |

NOS is an energy drink with tons of B vitamins and caffeine, among other things - they licensed their brand name from Holley Performance Carburetors and then in a funny turnaround ended up sponsoring Drift, RallyCross and NASCAR cars - Traxxas used to sell a NOS-branded R/C RallyCross car: https://www.holley.com/brands/nos/ |

Lovely Saturday morning here, early summer. Enjoying my morning coffee and vegemite on toast while I experiment with HW1080 settings. It would seem the freewheeling effect is proportional to the drag brake setting. Back the drag brake right off and it seems to have little effect, crank drag brake right up and engine braking effect is very strong. K10 washed and lubed, Doc Hudson coffee cup from Disney Cars Land. |

Saturday. And Summer. There. OMFG One of the features I really like, especially with a faster motor or gearing on 3S, is the percentage of reverse. I like 50% for slower rigs and 25% for faster ones. It's so much easier in tight situations where you're forced to backup. The adjustable bec is pretty cool too if you're not using a castle. I did burn up one lighting controller on 7.4 though...."What's that smell??" I put the start up and stop ramp up the slowest they go. Now after a year and getting a better controlled trigger finger, I've stepped up some of mine a little more. Initially though, it makes them start and stop really smooth. Was a big advantage learning to crawl well. Again, especially with 3s power. I also run all mine on the 16ghz or whatever it is - they run fine and are silent. I've had a few comments out on the rocks, "That thing is SO quiet". |

They sure are smooth! I'm running both mine on 16 ghz too, K10 is anything but silent now with a damaged spur, I think I will go down 1 tooth on the pinion now and replace spur gear with a new one while I'm at it. It has so much top end now it won't hurt to gear down a little. |

I laughed cuz it's Friday and winter here, people wiped out by fire, then 2" of rain yesterday, and blew off the neighbors roof in the storm! We're fine though, there are 20mil people here. It's ridiculous. We're on the 5-year retirement plan and get out of dodge. Summer huh...…lol We're gonna pitch in here and send ya a body. Geesh. I know...you like it like that. A testament to your success. |

Love that coffee mug! I'm off the NOS and drinking Earl Grey out of a beer mug, as it's my day off. Gotta get up at 4AM for work tomorrow. Between you and Browneye's K10 updates, I'm feeling guilty about not yet painting my replacement K10 body and building up the replacement cage. No mechanical updates required at this time... Also going to use some scale diamond-plate that I picked up for the cage area, and add some accessories. Might try to pick up the replacement grille meant for the Suburban as it is prepped for working headlights. |

Mmmm coffee, I've heard that vegemite is tasty and healthy, what's a good brand? Good to know about the WP1080 programming. Quote:
Not particularly into energy drinks either, but the bottle looks cool, coffee here. Sweet mug! | |||

There’s only one Vegemite Natedog! Jar looks like this, sometimes has different stuff written on it like vitamin B or yeast extract..... Follow Hugh Jackmans advice in this clip if you wanna try some, all Aussies are fed vegemite on toast from a very young age, it’s usually the first real food you eat as a baby! |

grew up in the land of peanut butter. I tried Vegemite more than once during my late teen romp around Australia. How convenient it would have been to like it while I lived out of a van...alas we could find no peanut butter

End of year comp today and social trail drive on the granite at beautiful Boat Harbour NSW! First real outing with 550 can motor, it’s great! Stuck with 2S shorty packs for the comp as I like the extra weight up front that the battery gives and ran 3S on the trail drive for fun. Was thinking I might need to drop pinion 1 tooth to get the low end performance of the 35T 540 motor but I really don’t think I need too, slow crawls great on stock gearing. Also added some lead to the KLR X4’s and was able to concour one of the extreme bonus gates with ease. Here are some pics |
