I tried RC4WD IROK foams in the Voodoo KLR X4 tyres, but they are too soft and starting to fall apart, tyres just folds over on sidehills or downhill turns and it just plows forward with understeer.

Forgot I had these 2 stage CI foams, just the inner non comp cut foam was a really good fit, I think I originally got these for XL size Scorpios.

The CI single stage inner foam is a great fit and is nicely held in place by the narrow wheels, no side to side movement of the foam.
The diameter seems just right too, good amount of air gap and with all the rubber that’s in these KLR X4’s they kinda hold themselves up, and give a good amount of squish when the going gets tough and don’t roll over on sidehills or hard downhill turns, I think they are gunna be good, or maybe I’ve just gone silly in the heat

Looks much improved! Just looking at your pics from here maybe if the foams were 1/8" taller, might get even better. My original Blazer is setup with single stage foams that have compressed down and now have about 1/4" air gap inside and work great. Sweatin to the oldie foams, we're shivering lately over here, but summer will bring the heat again like you've got now.

Edit; missed the diff/driveshafts rebuild, great job, truck has seen tons of use!

Time for a change, this is the Vaterra C10 body for the V100 on-road car, I was planning on making it for my son, with a styrene bed, but that project stalled. He is getting the Proline 1966 Chevy body now. So I will make use of this body!

The Ascender cage doesnít fit, body is too short, time to cut and extend.

The rear wall off the cab will get glued onto new cab and sandwiched in place between bed roll bar and plastic pieces inside cab.

The door skins will be the filler pieces for the bed stretch, the rear part of the opposite side door has the right shape.

Damn that shoo goo and drywall tap is on there good!

Sanded the old paint off the door skins and cut up to suit the gap, with left over piece to be glued in behind.

A bit of sanding and filler and more sanding, pretty rough actually, but itís meant to look like a comp crawler thatís been chopped...

The painting was a bit of a disaster actually, I wanted an off white or ivory but Tamiya PS paints for lexan donít come in this colour.

It will have to be painted on the outside because of the bed stretch, so I painted the inside with silver, thinking when the outside gets scratched the silver will show and look like metal....

So for my custom ivory colour, I tried emptying the rattle cans into one of those preval spray paint things, mixed up white with a dash of camel yellow, half way thru painting, not enough paint, ran out, thinned it out and got a little more, stabbed the can of white with a screw driver and drained last bit out, add a little camel yellow oh no different shade not matching different shades going on got paint runs gun splattering maybe brush it on in places.... aarrrggghhh!!!!

Walked away hot and cranky, thinking I will sand it down later, and just spray plain white straight from the rattle can!

Gave it a scuff up with a scotch brite pad and different shades coming thru, went a bit hard in places and the silver paint on inside of shell coming thru a bit. Itís starting to grow on me, stuff it! Letís sticker it up and roll with it!

Stickers, on purpose, to hide dodgy bed stretch panel work!

The rear part of the body is screwed to the rear cage, two at the rear, and 3 on each side. Had to make spacers to stand the body off the cage, rear two spacers are a bit short and are pulling the tailgate in, I will fix that tomorrow and have a flat tailgate.

Kept the hood off the old cab, if I ever start feeling nostalgic, I will clip it on there for a while!

Interesting write up! There were many points along the way where I was like "Oh no! What is he doing? He's ruining it." But, in the end, it looks like it turned out well.

Very nice. Awesome job. I found out how easy and fun it is cutting up lexan bodies when I bobbed the rear of my original blazer body. I like it with the black hood. Makes it look mean! Nice job.
