Thanks Nate, the driver figure is a ‘Hunger games’ movie character, was some at my local hobby shop but were very expensive. The shop was moving and had a clearance sale, it was something like $5 so I grabbed it.

Here’s something I made out of an old pallet!

Not really! It was popsicle sticks, had fun making it with my son, got glue everywhere....

It covers and hides the hump and body posts in the bed pretty good, will hold it down with magnets, it’s yet another idea I got from this great forum, It was from someone in the TRX4 section and he used the proline 66 Chevy body too, maybe his username is number9, can’t remember.

Dunno what I’m gunna strap down on the pallet, bags of fertiliser, 3D printed old engine, bale of straw.....

Straw bales are something we could make today, so why we were still keen we hot glued some foam board together, cut up some hemp rope and stuck it on the foam with spray adhesive.

Those hay bales really suit that old Chevy nicely.

How many roll-overs are they rated for?

Super-cool idea, those hay bales will look even better after they get a little dirt on 'em...

That came out very nice! What holds the pallet in, magnets, velcro or?

I'm thinking I will use magnets for the pallet and then just tie the bales to the pallet with 'rope' when we use them. This is turning into more of a trail truck, I can't see it being used in our local comps, they can be brutal! Might have to get the proline ambush body for this chassis too and swap out the bodies between comps and trail runs.

this is so cool it's nearly unfair. I had not seen this. the wiper strip as torsional bar on that ingenious swaybar setup is just the cherry on the top.

I am extremely jealous of your fully bedded K10 .
I have long wanted a full body on mine.

wow.

Natedog pointed me to this part of your build I musta overlooked.

you do extremely cool stuff.

Thanks mate, glad you liked it and hope it helps you with some more swaybar ideas.

it did.

I got my old wiper blade strip. I need to grind/Dremel the ends to fit in my Axial Wraith swaybar kit arms ...I see how you're using the arm grubs to secure them well to the wiper-strip stock torsion bar.

I only have to twist the strip w my hands to tell , mechanically, the size and flexibility of this width of steel is going to be nearly perfect for my Ascender's weight.

I'm gonna still try to run it thru the rearmost frame holes ; likely have to widen them or thin the bar/strip .

You have a great eye for for picking out everyday stuff to use at 1/10 scale. I don’t know all of the original interiors to these old half-tons, but Proline’s interior piece seems to me a damn good representation on the 60’s interiors I have looked at. Both Fords and Chevs. Really enjoying your thread YS!

Two Thumbs up!

Comp day!

Have been busy lately and missed a few comps, it was great to catch up with the guys and have a good crawler session. Took plenty of pics of my 2 Ascenders for you all to enjoy!

Hi Prontozuk,
Vaterra make a line of on road Rc cars called the V100. It is V100 C10 body that I have modified to fit my Ascender.
If you go way back to post 200 you will see some info about it and what I had originally planned to do with it for my sons Ascender, and if you go to post 529 you will see where I started modifying it again to fit on my Ascender chassis. I had to cut it and stretch it, and cut up my old black body to make fill panels.

Turned out pretty cool if I do say so myself!
