You can't count on me for that. I encourage living in vans. My wife and I talk about doing that all the time. If only I were not tethered to this job, and that mortgage....

Underpasses can be killer crawling grounds. There was an actual club-comp crawl last year at one near here.

My last Ascender project was to remove both driveshafts from my original K10 RTR - my first crawler. I found worn pins in my comp crawler so wanted to check this one as it has a LOT of miles on it - has trained 4 drivers as well.

Yes, very worn. Not ready to break worn like the other one, but putting new pins in really tightened everything back up. And yes, you have to grind off the end of the two that fit into the bearing race on the diff-end, but they work very well.

Got my stencils for military markings for the Nukizer...12" WB. Ready to paint and mount.

Hey Chris, I was just looking at that body on RPP yesterday. ( I sent my old one to Animal hippie) I need a body for my Enduro Kit, but decided on the Proline Power Wagon. How are you and Sharri doing?

I've had that one hanging around for a time. It's a 12" wheelbase, so it needs to either go on a short rig or make one short.

I have a couple of bodies to paint...maybe this week. Got that FJ40 for the TRX chassis to do as well.

And I have a complete 67Chevy pickup, got it last year at PLBF. Still new in the bag. I'm thinking about replacing my silverado with the cab section. Or just get a new silverado - it's getting really hammered.

Outstanding! Harbor cruise yesterday - spring is finally here.

What wheelbase does the Silverado cab + Ascender cage fit? Just curious.

It was still way too long for WB4, so I shortened the cage at the front and added a tab on the rear of the frame for the mount.

Details starting here in my build thread, starting at post 70:
Browneye JK Unlimited/K5 Blazer (Build)

The 66-67 Chevy is shorter, so I think a stock truggy frame will probly work with it. I can rob that off my other Ascender, the one that's getting the Nukizer.

I have a LOT of bodies knocking around.

I'm getting the itch to finally build that Ascender kit I have stashed away or just start modifying the f100 loaner.

Installed a 20kg servo, 1.9" Deep Woods and swapped out the stock shocks for aluminum ones. Truck runs great and handles beautifully!

Just did those Arrma pins (very good fit diameter takes up some slop) on one of my original shafts, worn but not too badly, I do put a drop of oil on the joints every so often.

Love that Nukizer body, wish it was 12.3" instead of 12" wb.

Very nice! I"m working on the opposite, lengthening my K10 with cage bed.

Took my Vaterra to "The Canyon". Love this truck, smooth crawler, second to none. Little did I know there was a Gen 8 crawling up there! Good times

Cool pics!

I have a crawl spot nearly identical to that across the street from my work...

Hoping no one starts building there anytime soon!

Thanks Durok!

Unfortunately, "The Canyon" won't be around for long so I have to enjoy it as much as I can. It's a huge area built up (around 20 to 30 ft. high) with clay, dirt and sand for a future overpass. It looks like a scene out of Arizona!

Thanks to Natedog for remember that I may still be alive... LOL... Life has been busy with a 9 year old and a job that requires a ton of standby time and a lot of ongoing projects....

I have been struggling with tire rub on the Little Lebowksi's Urban Achievers K-10 after the addition of some awesome CodyBoy front axles with my BPC battery tray...

Had been toying with a few ideas, but ended up with a little reverse engineering of the BPC tray...

Came up with the idea of the standoffs when I was working on my K-5 Blazer (used SS tubing on that one) and since I tend to use smaller batteries on the L.L.U.A. K-10 figured I could try my really bad hands at fabricating something...

After a short run around the front yard and the stack stone edging, it hasn't been a total failure... My plan is to move the ESC and power button up to the platform I made... Should add a little weight up front.. Then, off to the trails...

Started on my prototype for my rear shock mounts. My jigsaw bit the dust, so these were cut out with my angle grinder, so they're not great looking. The next ones should look much better, lol. I also plan on making ones for the front shocks.

I eliminated the torque twist..... I installed some SCX10 II axles. just need to fiddle the the pinion and spur to get some wheel speed back. I think I'm going to put in a different motor as well.

Truffo07, welcome to RCC, however no pictures visible to us. you need to either copy and paste entire IMG link or use Tapatalk and upload your images to Rccrawler. You got just the closing /img on your first post and nothing in the second post here in this thread.

My truck came with a 20t motor with a 17 tooth pinion, and today I installed a 45t motor with a 13 tooth pinion. What a difference! For me, it was way too fast before, and now it feels about right with great low-speed control.

Got my new cheap Amazon metal rims with knockoff Hyrax tires. I must say that I'm pretty impressed with them, though the foam kind of sucks.
