Give them a year! I have a box I'm putting together for the axles and a few things. The tranny I have is a one speed but I have all the gears but the upper shaft 2 speed gears to convert it. Have you found one yet? Ernie Last edited by CODYBOY; 12-07-2017 at 08:27 AM. |

Got a couple new goodies for the Bronco. WOOP WOOP SSD Pro C Hubs Wraith front sway bar using the soft bar. Not for the Bronco, but I did grab these for when I get the new F100 ! Going to wrap them in either another set of Hyrax or the Swamper TSL XL tires. |

Shrunk it down enough to mount a Mojave 2 body on it. I still need to do some more trimming but it fits. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I bought a used Ascender off ebay uk a week ago. I reason to do it was it had Vanquish Currie axles on it. For the price of the axles I got a whole truck. So far just swapped the axles onto my Ascender with the Land Rover body and been sorting the new truck out as the previous owner had done some mods to fit a Toyata pick up body. I put the K10 body and cage on it that I bought a while ago.. Now waiting for a few parts to turn up to get it running. What I got. How it looks now. Just want to get decent rear shock mounts and some better bracing on the rear of the chassis. Last edited by M1tch; 12-02-2017 at 11:08 AM. Reason: more pics |

Hey Ascenderbender, one of those grills would look right at home on my K10!

Actually got a question about this BEC. It has 2 output leads. 1 with a signal wire and 1 without. Instructions say to plug both direct into rx. Cant I power servo directly like the old BEC used to?

I just got my Ascender and already have some new parts on the way. Gonna run it today (first time). I know these have been out a while, but already looking to upgrade the transmission and add a couple more channels to run everything.

***also remember to to take the esc plug and remove the red wire as you will not be using the esc's bec now and either add a piece of tape or add a bit of shrink tubing to it to insulate it. Now plug the bec 2 wire set into a Holmes Hobbies receiver bypass adaptor with auxiliary output harness and plug this into the steering channel on rx now plug the servo into the 3 wire plug. I believe those come preset to 5.1v, i used castle link and upped my voltage to 6v. Last edited by ScoJac; 12-08-2017 at 06:43 PM.

Thanks for that. I will have to look into making an adaptor like that as getting stuff from the USA can take a while especially this time of year. I can't see why the BEC should need a signal wire, but no matter, I guess it's Castles way of doing stuff.

standard harness auxilary output harness ***The reason there is a signal wire in the one set of wires is so the bec can communicate with the castle-link adaptor for programming the voltage output. disregard what i posted before on the rx ports for some reason I had my TRX4 rx stuck in my head...just plug into the bind or aux port on the spectrum rx. my trx4 is using the 2 lead bec and my ascender is using the single lead bec. you might want to squirt some silicone inside both ends of the heat shrink to waterproof it. as far as mounting it, mine is inside the rx box. I first put mine in the rx box then ran the battery leads out then just soldered into the battery connector. (those tiny xt30 connectors are for hooking up lightbars directly to the battery)

Thanks again. I did eventually figure it out, but my brain and electronics don't work well together lol. Because of where I have fitted the electronics at the front, there isn't room for a box. I will waterproof it anyway. I have a castle link so will set it up and test it all before finishing the installation.

Use a baking tray or drip pan for the barby cut out a strip a bit larger than the grill of the ascender and flatten it out with a spatula or ruler to flatten it out, after slowly use blunt tools (ruler worked well) to mold the strip around the grill (it is easier to go from one side to the other) Once the outer shape of grill is done use a pair of scissors to poke out the grill slits one by one (around 50) and then remove from actual grill, fold the left over material behind the grill Now you have a destroyable grill! Have fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
