Haven't figured out why it won't upload higher than 360 but I'll get it eventually. Little longer clip this time.

Nice waterfall climb, that really challenges a truck, under-drive rear axle gear set would really help the truck to stay pointed straight up and pull up and over ledges! Pitbulls Growlers seem to be working very well, water and cooler temps quickly show any tires weakness.

I'm really happy with the Growlers thus far. CI foams helped them out too. I felt I had to leave the tumble/slide in there for some fun. Knew I was pushing my luck but that's why I do this with toy trucks and not real ones. My only regret is not going to that spot earlier in the season. Locals have been talking about it all summer but I've only been over there 3 times. Winter is rapidly approaching and I still want to play. Also means build season is just around the corner...

Good to hear about the Growlers, yes CI or Proline foams are a must imo. I prefer seeing the tumbles, nothing wrong with trying, try again and new line as needed!

Part of me wants another set of Growlers for my other Ascender. At the same time I feel I should try something different just for the "spice of life" aspect. Hyrax's just seem a touch too wide for my liking. They look and perform awesome on my Deadbolt though. Just need to kick them out slightly so they don't rub/bind on the front suspension. Or AR60's....

Got my "back in stock" email from RPP about the new SSD weighted knuckles. I didn't end up buying a pair.... I bought 2 pairs!! Pics of the shiny new buggers when I get them!

Got the truck out for a couple hours last night after work. First time I've gotten to really drive it since adding the new knuckles. Man this little truck continues to impress me. Pulling lines with ease my buddy and his 10.2 on 2.2's couldn't pull. Shocks are performing awesome finally. I was side-hilling on terrain that I never could have before. I'm still interested in tossing my old empty shell on this chassis and see where I can put it then. Removing 2 lbs of weight up high, in theory, should make this thing unstoppable*.

*IMO

all of the weight down low has made a big difference I gather?

...that and good driving, of course

Non-rotating mass down low is key. With 160g's in knuckles plus CODYBOY axles front and rear, it's not light down low.

Next might be a bumper or/and body swap to help approach angles. Kinda pains me to say that, but if I have any gripes about the truck it's my front end hanging up before the tires can help get over things. RC4WD brackets are a joke. I need to pull the rear off and bend those straight again. If I go with a bumper that locks inside the framerails I'll more than likely lose my body mounting point so that's not currently an option. Also, I might cut the front brackets on the back side to allow me to tuck the bumper closer to the body. I don't need a lot but as we all know, a little can be a lot for these tiny trucks. At the same time I do that, I might widen the center part so I can adjust the angle of the bumper. As it sits now it's pitched down slightly.

Rant over. Off to browse bumpers...

Took TBL out to MNRCRC's 2017 Howl Crawl. Sub 40 temps didn't stop 30+ trucks from playing. Truck performed very well. I'm really liking the new the new SSD knuckles. I know I've said it before, but man it's made a difference on this truck. Probably going to swap out the cheap waterproof Savox for something with a little more gumption.

Not really crawler related but here are some pics of another hobby of mine; Halloween! Next year I'm gonna turn one of the trucks into a spider or put a mannequin head on it and chase the kids around. There I brought it back to RC!

Thanks! I had 3 of them going total. Finally wised up and kept the machines on the patio and used PVC to get the fog out to the yard. Less likely to let them run dry and no fear of tripping over anything walking through the yard. As fast as Halloween comes down, the Christmas stuff starts going up. I won't turn the timers on until Black Friday, but the snow has already made an appearance this year so I need to get moving if I don't want to work in the real cold.

Thanks Ernie! I toned down my scary level a touch this year just because it was so cold. 29* at 6:30 when I checked so we had the fire pit in the driveway for us and the parents of the trick-or-treaters. Usually I'm in the house watching my security cameras waiting to burst out the door with a random, safe, power tool in hand. Had a few complaints that I didn't go that route this year but I figure they'll just begin to expect it. The kid will be a year older too so I can crank it to 11 again in the next couple years.

NICE!
cant wait to get moved in my new place and get ready for Halloween next year... my favorite holiday after Christmas.
the pallet with hands coming through is creepy as all get out... love it!

also, the crawl pics... the waterfall pic is awesome. and is that a maroon 79 ford?! ;) your blazer is looking great and performance continues to inspire!
the growlers are a fantastic tire. i put a set on my son's barrage. waste of a good tire? NOPE! HUGE improvement to the barrage! those tires combined with some basic barrage "free mods" has vastly improved the little rig that could.
