K5 kit to K10

I'm about to rip my K5 kit apart and shorten it in to a WB2 K10. I think I have everything I need but I was wondering if any of you have any tips for things I need to keep my eyes open for?
I have read and reread as many threads as possible and now my head is full of information but it's nice to have some first hand advice ;-)

Thanks in advance"thumbsup"

Only thing you'll need is either a shorter steering tie-rod from servo to axle linkage or a longer one (my preference) and connect it to the top of the right steering knuckle. To eliminate bumpsteer with the longer rod setup, mount the sideways steering servo on top of the servo mounts. Pics are in my thread if you want to see the setup, I used an Axial green link and couple Traxxas ball ends I had around, steering is much improved this way too. :)

Natedog, many thanks for that. I will go through your thread and make notes ;-)
I have the alloy Vaterra shocks and I'm going to outboard them. Did you time them the same as a standard plastic shock?

Cheers

Next question for you all, I have removed the floating battery tray and I'm waiting on delivery of the bpc tray. In doing this can I run the servo in the same orientation as WB4?

Thanks in advancd

You're welcome, sounds good. The Vaterra alloy shocks I outboarded, limited internally 6mm iirc, refilled with 30wt shock oil. I did not drill the shock pistons in them as I did with the plastic shocks.

Yes, you should be able to run steering servo in WB4 position with this setup. "thumbsup"

Let me know how this goes. I've been wary of shortening my truck as I have the rtr and don't have all the extra links and spacers the kit comes with. :)

It's going fine. By using the bpc tray I'm keeping the servo in the original position. I've gone for the vanquish drive shaft adaptors so I'm not using the plastic drive shafts. I've also gone with SSD links for WB2.
If I could photobucket to work at a usable speed I would post some pics!
