Trx4 fender flares for blazer body While at hobby town last week demoing the trx4, I noticed the rubber fender flares are close to the size and shape of the blazer wheel wells. Found a set on 3bay for 11$ shipped.. A little bigger, but my wells are already trimmed a bit. What I did not check was the hardware that holds them on (doh!). Is there a supplier that makes bulk hardware in these small sizes? Can't find the stock ones yet. |
Re: Trx4 fender flares for blazer body FASTENEREXPRESS.COM is where I go for all my hobby screws. I'm sure they'll have what you need. I find their site to be much easier to navigate than McMaster-Carr's. |
Re: Trx4 fender flares for blazer body Got them in the mail today. If anyone is interested, these are a great fit for the k5 body. Especially if you have trimmed your wheel wells already. I checked out McMaster and fastener express. McMaster was almost half the cost, but the only nylon nuts I found there were over 6$ for 10. I'm just gonna buy the little packs of screws at lhs. About the same cost or cheaper, and I really see no use for an extra 80 m2 8mm screws. |
Re: Trx4 fender flares for blazer body i ordered a set...i have no idea on what i am going to use them, might try them on the blazer.. |
Re: Trx4 fender flares for blazer body I installed 1 flare: |

McMaster Carr's site sucks yet it's great. I like that you have the options tree on the left hand side and you can narrow it down to exactly what you want. But if you don't know exactly what you want it can be impossible to find things. |

Re: Trx4 fender flares for blazer body I drilled out the dummy screws and used a screw in every point instead of just half of them. I had already cut my fenders, so the rubber flares did not need cut. If using for uncut stock openings, the rubber flares will need cut down. Keep in mind these are rubber, and can really be tweaked and shaped by where you drill the mounting holes. These do add some width, you may need to widen your trucks track width so it does not look like this: http://ovanpic.com/images/2017/06/17...616_034934.jpg |
Re: Trx4 fender flares for blazer body Pics aren't working.. |
Re: Trx4 fender flares for blazer body Great idea, but pictures not showing at the moment and won't open when clicked on, just spins forever attempting to open.. :) |
Re: Trx4 fender flares for blazer body Working for me... have a heck of a time hosting pics. How much is it to upgrade my account here? Or a pic hosting site that will work with my Samsung tablet? |

Re: Trx4 fender flares for blazer body I use photobucket for hosting my pics |
Re: Trx4 fender flares for blazer body Every one of his pictures show for me. And I used to use Photobucket years ago. It's a good option too. Nowadays I post my pictures through the Tapatalk app on my tablet or cell. |
Re: Trx4 fender flares for blazer body not showing for me on my office computer, will try later at home. |
Re: Trx4 fender flares for blazer body I can't get into my photobucket account any more. Tried for months now to get it resolved, but they have not returned any emails. I have many years of rc pics that I cannot access. Used to love it, but now I effing hate photobutt |

Re: Trx4 fender flares for blazer body I was worried that the little screws and nuts would pull through the body.... that won't happen, even without washers. I just swung the truck around pretty violently by the flare. Only 6 of those bolts have nuts on them. Only downside is if you don't widen your track, it will look a little silly...other than that this is a pretty sweet mod for about 20 bux Anyone know what style and type of hubs I will need to space my ssd scale trail beadlocks 1/4" per side? |
