sold those wheels today and ordered 5 stud rc4wd steel beadlocks for it.

sat the cruiser body on it to see how its gonna look, cant wait to get it mounted properly. will make up some sliders that the body mounts too during the week.
May need to do some trimming on it and will see if I can mount the tub aswell

oh man no hex hubs on those? bummer.
I wonder if you could somehow mill down the hub surface, then use those 5 screws tapped into SLW style hub adapters? just get the thinnest ones from vanquish or really any hub adapter.
those really are sweet wheels and would be a shame not to try using them.

looking at them again... are they beadlock? I don't see ay hardware but looks like there is a ring?

im in a similar boat, no idea what wheels to use for my build.

good luck to us both!

***whoops! didn't see page 2 you already got rid of those 5 spoke wheels! I think you made the wise choice in the rc3wd wheels. much easier than what I had in mind lol
body looks great on there!

cheers mate, ive been selling a heap of old wheels and tyres that I don't use, and have made enough money to offset buying the new ones and new tyres that I will use.

I actually have some alloy hex hubs to suit slw wheels, I tried drilling to suit but the holes drilled were coming through right against the hex so I thought they would end up opening up.

a few updates,

rc4wd 5 lug wheels and the pitbull mad beasts turned up, also picked up the strc rear upper link mounts and diff covers (not yet fitted)

there is a lot of offset on these wheels, so gonna need to make up some wider flares front and rear. may even be able to modify some jeep ones to suit.

put the basic body together, have the gcm racing rear shock setup so I can run the bed. Time to make some mounts to hold it all together, using the rear tub this is as low as I can get it to sit.

some serious offset alright...

I've half mounted the body, 2 x 3mm screws tapped into the top rear of the chassis. its holding the whole body on quite well, but will still need to make some brackets at the front somehow.
Made some sliders and am going to need to do some body cutting, I might try my local hobby shop tomorrow and see if they have any of the wider flares used on the jeeps and will cut the body to suit.

ordered the LRT2 tranny combo from GCM aswell.

I like the flares on the front but not really feeling them on the rear. might end up making a tray back for it.

the GCM tranny kit is on its way, looking forward to getting it mounted somehow.

Today I decided I didn't like the plastic mounting of the servo, I had some 6mm aluminium plate so I played around a little and it turned out awesome first try.

some high heat paint and cured in the oven, the missus didn't even care haha.

here it is, Let me know what you think.

thanks jato, I could get it running now but waiting on the gcm tranny setup so I only have to mount the body once.

went crawling with a mate today just using his stock K10 ascender, only upgrades were proline 2.2 flat irons. I am amazed at how well it crawled, I was driving lines I thought a scale looking truck shouldn't even do and it was doing it.

It's made me more and more happy with my purchase and am itching to get mine going. Also sold the scx10ii last night so ascender only now.

here's my mates very stock rig from today

GCM LRT2 arrived, very cool bit of kit. just sitting on the chassis for now, will work out some mounting options for it

also put some CI foams in the mad beasts, it can now handle the weight of the ascender

still going with this, although put the cruiser body back on the shelf, for now I didn't want to hack the guards up too much to try run it as low as I want, so I've got a k10 body and rear cage setup for it. its all painted and ready to go.

still haven't made the rear transfer bracket yet, possibly today if I'm lucky.

A few side by sides of the 2 ascenders, I'm sick of just bench pics but all I can do for now, bring on Saturday!!!

I lowered the bronco body at least 5 holes f&r and I think it sitting much better. Just been playing around in the yard, nothing to really crawl on but it seems quite planted on certain angles, ill have to keep an eye on yeti stealths thread and get tips and ideas on his young fellas setup.

I also removed the dynamite esc and put in a hobbywing 1080, I run these in all my rigs, even on the moa and for the money they are a great unit. super easy to setup with the included program cards, so can easily tune them on the trails...

A mate is possibly coming over today to do a video of the rigs for his youtube channel (rc anonymous)

see how many hits he gets with people seeing the codyboy designs axles etc.
