You're going to wind up with quite a few irons in the fire!

Congrats on the impending delivery. CA, sanding blocks, and high build primer will be your friends for the foreseeable future. |

Wow, that's amazing. Unless it was carbon fiber, I'm afraid I would destroy it first trip out. LOL Was that shapeways? And what did they charge you for all that? |

yes, yes, and yes. i have plenty of irons in the fire and that's how my A.D.D. likes it! haha i can bounce back and forth between projects and make progress on a bunch of different things. idle hands... CA, sanding blocks, high-build primer, and a MOLDING KIT/RESIN are my new best friends. ;) the plan is to get it molded while its still in manageable pieces and pour resin without modifying the original "master mold". this way, if i do destroy it (either by driving or assembly/modification) i wont be crying to the tune of $350. not shapeways, its a guy from korea on facebook. jk3drc. his English is actually excellent, which was one of my concerns before i jumped in the pool headfirst. and for clarification NO!!!!!!!! im NOT selling any of the resin re-casts. i gotta have some sort of morals. |

Lol yes it is! You turkey! So... Here you go! Hangul newspaper! Mmmm... Poppy stuff... What's this now...? Die reck shunz? Feh! Wont be needing these... Oh. Okay that's kinda important. This will DEFINITELY get recast in resin. Okay gang here is where I stopped. This is obviously NOT a long bed like I ordered. Could I lengthen it when recasting? Sure. But at the amount I paid, I should have received what I paid for. I contacted jk3d immediately. Right then and there I opened Facebook messenger and told him its the wrong bed. And that means the shell topper is wrong. And the trim. So... The only thing right was the cab. Which I will say I took the front clip out and rested it over the top of my current lexan body and... The tires are completely tucked inside the fenders! Perfectly! So I really am still enthusiastic of this body. I just need to get an answer about the incorrect bed. He has also included a revised, corrected mirror set for the 79 to include wing window frames! It has been repacked and brought to my bedroom as my garage has been consistently over 100 degrees. Stay tuned gang. I will let you know what he says. If he leaves me out to dry I will be issuing you all pitchforks and torches and first class tickets to south Korea. Just kidding. But seriously I will be quite angry if he doesnt fix this. He wont like me when I'm angry. *** Ok he just answered. Says he made the bed 11mm longer than normal. FACEPALM I asked him for THE LONGBED. I never said just make it a hair longer. Wtf... I asked him just now can you just print the bed sides from the supercab. Waiting on his answer now. Last edited by Shinchu; 08-20-2018 at 10:28 PM. |

and the verdict is... NOT GUILTY i spoke with him for a while and we came to an agreement. i can keep the old bed (maybe it will fit a proline cab?) and he will print me a new long bed and only asked me to pay shipping ($30). there will be no pitchforks, torches, or trips to south korea. *collective groan of disappointment* oh and he requested i post pics on his facebook when its done. not only did i happily agree, i said i can do one better and post vids too. Mr. Kim is a decent and reasonable fella. that said i will start working on the cab and get some pics up later tonight how it sits over the wheels. AND! I need to get going on some mold casting! DANGit, I was getting all ready to go back to Inchon heavily armed. I could just see walking out of the airport in S Korea yelling "I'm looking for this guy named Kim!" Cool that he worked it out with you though. I sure hope that warning means 60 °C |
