Awesome! You told me to be patient, that you had a weight solution coming for us Ascender guys. Looks good. I'll be ordering up a couple pair! Thanks SSD! How soon before retailers have them?

Any comparison of weight vs. Vattera's metal knuckle with the rotor weights?

The rotor weights are 27g each. I'm not sure on the knuckle weight but definitely gonna get more weight from the SSD knuckles.

sent an email to SSD asking this and got a reply that they are working on this part right now...

hope they will be the gunmetal brass or an aluminum one with attachment points to add a tiny but of weight ? regardless i'll be down for two sets when they release them.

Question Re: New SSD Brass Knuckles

I'm wondering if anyone has used these Knuckles with SSD 1.5 D hole wheels (using the stock hub)?
The inner portion of the wheel is about 39mm

I've checked the ssd rear weights and these wheels clear them fine, but I'm not sure about the front. What ever it is it will be tight, so if anyone can check I'd really appreciate it.

Well, I know it's not quite the same but my 1.7" RC4WD Raceline beadlocks fit and I have front SSD brass knucks and the rear SSD brass axle lockouts.

Compared to rear view of the SSD wheels:

My actual clearance is quite good, I'm sure you'd be OK:

Awesome! Thanks durok!

That does look like it should clear, I can see the rear weights are a bit tight but the front looks to have a bit more space.

Default New SSD Brass Knuckles

Not Ascender knuckles, but are very similar in size. I’m putting my Pro44s together now, glad I was on here to see that they MAY not clear everything out there. Wanted to check them on what I plan on using, 1.9 CNCs. Looks like they’ll work.

No they probably won't clear wheels with a rear ring. But that's kinda the old way of doing wheels anyway...

I just wanted to follow up on my question about these fitting the SSD 1.5 D hole wheels and they do indeed fit with a bit of room to spare.

these are installed on GCM racing 3D printed axles for the CMAX and they fit together just fine, its based off the Ascender axle after all.

I just installed these today on my k10 along with the SSD chubs. I swapped over the two insert spacers from each factory knuckle. However when I tighten down the upper and lower screws, there is still a small amount of movement of the knuckle. As if the screws bottom out before securing the knuckle. Is this normal? Am I missing something? The knuckles have a machined area for the head of the screw, but it’s not setting down in it, before tightening.

Sounds fine to me. The screws sit in the flanged bushings ("spacers"), not on the knuckle. If the screws were to touch the knuckle they would effectively clamp the knuckle onto the C hub and it wouldn't turn.

Due to the KPI (angle) there has to be a bit of tolerance to allow the knuckle to fit over the C hub.
