BPC Battery Relocation Tray - Ascender K10 - Stock WB(2)

This is NOT the Ascender-Specific tray they have, which is designed as a "T" shape one-piece unit that runs in-between the shock towers (providing a nice electronics mounting plate) and then widens to a full-size transverse battery tray.

I wanted/needed to go a different route for 2 reasons:

A. Shorter Wheelbase (Ascender K10 stock wheelbase)

B. Longer motor can (550 Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster 21t)

The aforementioned tray will work with a K10, but as some have noticed, even the 540 can brushed motor barely clears the factory "Shorty" battery tray setup. Mount the longer motor and that tray would likely have interference. Results may vary with longer wheelbases!

So - I went with the "Standard" BPC Battery Relocation Tray - Originally designed for the SCX10, that happens to fit multiple applications. When about to ship the product out, Bruce reached out to me to make certain I realized which tray I had ordered (since I mentioned Ascender in my notes) and to let me know they've made a subtle but useful change to the original.

Instead of bent mounting tabs, they are now separate L-tabs with elongated mounting holes to allow a wider range of chassis fitments. Nuts & bolts & a few stickers included, wrapped in 2 layers of bubble wrap in a small box, fast shipping.

It's heavy gauge stainless, so not for weight-weenies () and nicely made. Pics below with 550 can resting in place in some shots, 4300mAh 3S LiPo in others -

AMain Hobbies is now carrying all the BP Customs products, including this tray, the one with the electronics mount, and the ProTek 3600 Battery Tray (for that 3S Shorty pack that is quite popular with Ascender enthusiasts)...

They also make RULRs and beadlock rings, entire chassis, all sorts of stuff.

Been eyeballing this and the ProTek for a bit. How are you liking the tray so far? Seems like a very very well made piece for the price. And it being stainless makes it that much better.

I have the BPC tray for the protek 3600 on my ascender, my scx10, and my scx10 II. I just need to order 3 protek 3600s.


I used the GCM kit to relocate the motor/trans under the hood of my K5, and the BPC battery tray almost sits on top of the transfer case that come with the GCM kit. The BPC battery tray (protek 3600) works a lot better than laying a plastic wraith battery tray length wise down the centre of my ascender.

I bought one of these, they are very nice pieces, I'll try to get a picture later.

Installed, made my own mounts but comes with nice mounts for across the frame mounting.
