Default ESC Jumper settings

I just got a new F100. On the ESC there are two sets of jumpers - one is for battery type, the other has a choice of CRAWL or F/Br. What is the F/Br? Thanks.

I'm guessing here but, forward and brake? Just a hunch though. Don't have one so can't say for sure.

Yes, that's exactly what the jumper changes - leave it in the crawler setting for best results!

Or, better yet - spend about $42 on a programmable HobbyWing 1080 ESC...

Is the stock esc a rebranded HW 1060?

At a guess I would say it’s ‘close’ however you are locked out of programming with the stock esc whereas the HW1060 allows you to get in and change everything, so maybe the stock esc is a dumbed down and rebranded HW1060.

Seems very similar in looks and function, both mine work very well but the WP 1080 is way better.

Agreed, but what programming do you mean?

I’m thinking all the esc settings Natedog, that’s what I mean by programming.

As far as I know there is no way to adjust the stock esc drag brake etc.

Nice. I was thinking of getting the Blazer RTR and pulling the esc out for my CCO1. Then buying a HW 1080 for the Ascender.

I am curious as to how you are able to "get in and change everything" ie: make changes to the Hobbywing 1060 esc, please elaborate?

Well I am assuming it is like all other hobbywing esc, you can change from lipo to NiMH, forward/brake, forward/reverse, low voltage cut off, drag brake %, punch, reverse max throttle blah blah. You can do it via the built in set button on the esc or via a programme card.

I have yet to own or see a 1060 with a set button or that was compatible with the hobbywing Programming Card I use for my 1080.

I would love to be able to make a few adjustments on my 1060 - and based on your statements I thought you might know something that myself or others do not about some sort of hack to make adjustments.

My bad!

I have a 10bl60 sensored esc that has the set button....

So in that case the rtr esc must be just a rebadged HW 1060!

No worries, was hoping you knew something I didn't!

I can pick up a 1060 for as little as $22 CDN, where as a 1080 is around $50 CDN. I need at least 2 more crawler (dragbrake) escs at the moment and would go with more 1060s if they had a bit more adjustability - but will probably end up with a 1080 and whatever I can get cheapest to operate a scale winch.
