Yah and it's like 20lb line so I couldn't get it off. I tried cutting it but it's wrapped into the bearings so I have to pull it apart to get the string out. I want to make sure it's all out. I have ruined a bearing or two from fishing string. Dangerous stuff!

That exact thing happened to a guy my friend and I crawled with a few weeks ago - happens when crawling the shoreline of waterways...

A real mess to get rid of!

Yeah, not interested in experiencing a whole lot of that! We've trailed at the coast a few times, never had that happen. Ran over a Coney Island whitefish once...that was distasteful, but at least it didn't get tangled up in the machinery.

Got a package in the mail. All the way from China. It's the 1.45:1 ratio.

Lazy fishermen are bad for everything, aquatic life, land animals and crawlers. :(

Overdrive the front axle with the transfer case?

So I got some parts in the mail today. My mishap with the missing springs was actually a good thing. I found a set of springs with mounts for $22. I decided to go that route even though they don't come with u bolts. I can make my own with some piano wire and a small dye. Or I might have some rc4wd style axle mounts printed or fab something. I also got the trans I'm going to be using. I picked up a r4 scale trans.

I thought about doing under drive to the back technically. I am just going to run it as is for now. I ordered the wrong trans by accident so I don't have the set up I was going to use.

Making a little progress. Working on getting everything to fit. I might have to run a stock trans. It looks like if I cut under the seat I could get it to fit.

I think that's the way I'm going to do. I trimmed it out and the trans fits under the seat perfectly.

Amazon is getting sloppy. First my springs were missing and now the inner rings on 3 of the bead locks I bought. Was planning on painting them. Only color they had in stock. Now I have to reorder lol.

Now that I have the cab pretty much trimmed to fit it's time to start putting on the leaf springs and shorten the frame a little bit.

That little 1/12 situation is going to challenge you somewhere ;)

Well the body is the same length pretty much as the f100 and the width is only different by 1/8th inch. Is it tight? Yes. Can I make it work? Yes.

I can make anything fit. It just involves more effort lol. My biggest problem is the body is designed for a flat frame. If I have to I'll be going to the hardware store and picking up some c channel. But I think I can make it work.

That’s a great looking hardbody with separate fenders and, love it!
Yes you could always go with flat straight c-channel frame.

Transmission installed. It's starting to come together. When my box of parts show up I should have the chassis ready to go

I forgot to mention that I picked up a GCM lrt2 transfer case instead of the original plan to have overdrive front. I figured this small tired rig is going to need all the help it can get so I ordered one.

The engine and trans sit nice and low in the chassis.
