Was nice to meet you also!

No worries, I actually broke the TH when we were out crawling in the back and had to take it out for a bit. I had wanted to let you get some wheel time with it I left right after that also, the scale comp line was two hours long and I had already had a long week!

Fortunately, we are close enough that a weekend crawl with the trucks isn't too hard! I know a few places close by that are nice spots.

likewise, i had a couple steering failures on my rig (a plastic horn stripped, and now the servo is making death noises). and there are great spots all over SD county, my father in law has some high school buddies who meet often in Escondido (Jesmond Dean Park). that's a good halfway point for us ;)
Chris (Browneye) is also talking about doing something up in Orange County soon.
Glad you had a good time, and a broken truck is a good sign that you SENT IT! go hard or go home, right?!

Haven't touched my rigs much since PLBTF, busy with work and rebuilding my 77 BMW 320i. But I recently took my 1:1 out to Moab and got the RC itch, came home and did the repaint on my power wagon, and painted up the trailer as well. Currently 3D printing a whole trailer build that will hopefully work as a frame for the PW bed trailer. Just ordered some wheel weights and 2 stage foams also, as the stock PL foams roll really bad. On to the photos!

The first two are what the body looked like after 2 crawling days, note all the flaking and chipping. The white discoloration is from finger nail polish remover, which I used to remove the lacquer paint. Be warned, this will also permanently damage the clear plastic of your windows. I may be cutting those out anyway and replacing with some mesh and printed armor panels.

Thanks! I wasn't sure how I felt about the extra rusting at first, but I think it turned out better. The silver actually isn't dry brushing. I painted the inside of the clear body silver, then painted the outside brown then green. The wear through effect is from sanding through the layers slowly until the silver shows beneath. this way silver "metal" will naturally show through as the truck gets scratches. I also did a few spots where I laid down just a little bit of silver on top of the brown, then salted over it. So when the salt chipped off, silver showed through with some brown/rust specks.

Took the truck out for a spin with the new paint job at Gliderport in San Diego. This Krylon fusion is very durable. I rolled, smashed, slid, and grinded the paint on lots of rocks and dirt. No scratches! Some photos.

I noticed while out today that my back left wheel rusted up very nicely. If you all remember, I used raw steel wheels in hope they would weather naturally. Well they are starting to! Before and after.

It's not too bad. Lots of loose dirt and sand covered rock, some ravines, and steep climbs. Not my favorite of the area but closer than a lot I go to.

During my last few crawls I've had problems with the truck tipping backwards when ascending, and the super soft Proline foams folding over during side hills. Added some Proline 2 stage foams and some weights in the wheels. Did about 5oz for each front wheel and about 3oz for each rear wheel. Also added about 4oz inside the front bumper.

Crawls better now!

Great build! I wish I would have got the chance to see the power wagon at PLBTF, Shinch and I both met you there. I had the K10 Ascender with the Lone Wanderer as a driver, Not a Fallout themed truck just the driver.

I still really like the TH Fallout truck too, Its a very cohesive build.

A little teaser. Finishing up some paint, then it's off to a photo shoot.

Ah yes, I remember talking with you. Well if you make it to PLBTF 19, I'll have it there as well! I am considering doing a Vault 13 diorama for the scale city next year.

Well, I've been working 13+ hour days so haven't had time to get my rig out for some good shots of my little project.

However I did spend some time yesterday evening doing some 3D design and printing. I give you Power Wagon armor version .08. need just a hair resizing and angle adjusted on the windshield, then will print and paint V1.

If you are looking for some fallout weapons to 3d print there are a lot on thingiverse. I am making a fallout truck for my son. I put the fallout turret in the back and we may put some rail guns on the hood.
