Stock tires soaked in water and Simple Green mixture (about 2 gallons water and 2 cups Simple Green) stir and cover with a lid for a couple days, then scrub and rinse with water. For foams, I like Pro-Line single stage uncut inside the stock tires.

The beadlock mounting is not fun, but gets easier the more you do it.

I think it gets easier because your fingers get stronger! I changed out 4 sets of tires and wheels in one sitting. I couldn't move my fingers for 3 days! Part of the fun though, now I can crush bottle caps like aluminum foil! Lol

Update:

The Sheriff of UB (Ulaanbaatar) is nearly ready to keep the peace:
1. When the smallest size available at the local print shop is a square meter
[IMG][/IMG]
2. I got loads of 4 variations of the UB City logo. This gold one will likely go on the hood of The Sheriiff [IMG][/IMG]
3. I'm pleased overall, but these Gmade steel beadlocks do not want to hold the stock tires. I think I read that the RC4WD Proline rings will help? Also, I may paint the wheels white when I take them off to remount the tires....AGAIN
[IMG][/IMG]

As always, thanks for stopping by,
MP

When it comes to mounting the stock tires on the Gmade Steelies, do not worry about setting the front and back into the bead groove.
What you need to do is make sure you get the beads properly seated over the edge of the inner ring then you need to just set the front and rear on the tire as if they were just hub caps.
The beads are super thick and very difficult to mount on all brands of beadlocks. I tried half a dozen times with no success. That’s how I have mounted mine and have never had a bead pull out, I have been using them for a year that way, give it a shot.

Hope that method makes sense ?

Thanks for that ScoJac,

I'm not sure I follow, but I'll read it again once I have them apart....again. Do yours appear to be seated properly, or does the bead peek out?

Cheers,

Don’t try to mount then in the traditional manner, basically you just set the front and rear on the tire. Do not worry about trying to get the front and rear pulled into the bead groove, the beads are too thick and will just pop out. You just set them on the tire and install the screws and tighten. Hope that helps out.

UPDATE:

[IMG][/IMG]
After the maiden run of the Sheriff, I am very pleased. I was planning to leave things as is for now, except for a police light bar that is taking a long time to get to Mongolia...BUT

[IMG][/IMG]

The AWESOME guys from HWY 1 Rc sent me this Hobbywing XR10 Juststock ESC/21.5 brushless combo.

Would you guys recommend this over the brushed HW1080/Tekin 35T set up? If so, how to I set this up for trailing/crawling? It seems to be for racing??

Thanks for stopping by,
MP

That brushless setup is for racing or go fast stuff, I would leave the brushed combo you have in there.

Thanks for the suggestion Nate. The only brushed bashers I have are a Tamiya Hopper and a Lunchbox. I guess I could drop it in one of those and watch the parts fly

You’re welcome Pete. It is sensored so might be ok, just hard to beat the brushed setup you’re running.

Great time up on the mountain with The Sheriff today. Definitely happy with the 1080/Tekin HD 35t combo.

Hi Chris,

Thanks! I've not been on the Ascender forum too much lately cause I'm like a crackhead about my next build, an Axial SMT10-based SAMT

It is all I think about, even when I'm running my other bashers and trail trucks.

Cheers,
MP
